JJ can’t be overrated if 90% of NFL fans think that he’s overrated
Vikings fan here. They don't have to be HOFers, just real good long term starters.
Levi Drake Rodriguez is someone that is so easy to cheer for! He is someone that I can really see being a surprise.
Something worth noting also- KOC has made it clear that he is not gonna rush JJ onto the field. He is gonna make JJ work for that starter position.
JJ knows how to win!
Vikings have dealt with bad kicker play for so long, so I guess this move makes sense.
Picks 200+ are the guys you draft instead of priority UDFA. Consensus doesn't really matter at that point.
the falcons passed on JJ for Penix Jr... Kinda wonder about that

@FhillipFry Penix was a silly pick for Atlanta. He's in his peak right now at age 24... with the $100M guarantee they gave Cousins less than a month ago, Penix won't see the field until he's at least 26 years old. This is what happens when ownership insists on being too "hands on" in the process. 😮
@@dalelange845yeah to me it would of made more sense if the Falcons drafted someone like Turner or Murphy and draft someone like Pratt from Tulane in the later rounds
@hitman9198 Yeah, Turner or Murphy or Latu or even Odunze for that matter. I wonder how awkward things will be in their QB room, locker room, etc. Picking Penix @ #8 is simply counterintuitive to their previous move of bringing in and paying a minimum of $100M to a veteran QB. Truth is, Cousins is pissed because the Falcons sold him on signing with them by making him believe he was "the guy" for the next four years. Penix is bummed because he wants to play right away, and frankly needs to, because he isn't getting any younger. Just a poorly thought through move by Atlanta that required deception and lies to pull off. They can try to "spin" the situation all they want, but at this point they will likely make things even worse.

My main problem with the Vikings draft class is they did not draft any WRs. Their WR group is very thin. After Jefferson and Russell they have nothing in the way of upside or playmaking. TJ Hockenson is out for a good chunk of the season following the torn ACL. When healthy he helped cover up the lack of depth. Getting more talent in the receiver room would have helped a lot.

The only difference between JJ and guys like Stetson Bennett is teams are desperate for a franchise QB that bad choices will be made
