I have small garden at my backyard and I grow most of my food Organically here. Teaching kids the art of growing their own food is the best education one can give them as parents.

Organize similar markets in other parts of the country. I live in Vashi Navi Mumbai. We have a shop which sells organic produce - but prices seem high, especially so-called exotic vegetables and all fruits.

My grandma grows vegetables in our backyard. And this is rule in most Indian villages. It is only the city growers who feels a WoW factor in everything they don’t know (which is almost everything) 😅

Please give the location of this santhe. This vital information is not very clear. Most of the farmers seem quite prosperous and urban . Maybe they are new generation farmers who have given up their city professions and now taken up organic farming as it has become lucrative?

where is the location?
None of the people who are selling seem to be a farmer. Again how much do this organisation charge for each stall? Obviously they wouldn't be letting out the space for free. Again the prices will go up.
Dear Krishnan normally organic farming is done by enthusiasts and educated who have alternative income as one cannot fully depend on it,done in small areas practicing multi crop system that also happens to be our traditional method. Now slowly regular farmers are getting awareness of organic farming and entering it. This will take some time before many follow this method.

The organization should do something for uplifting the local farmer rather than the corporate employees. As you have mentioned this is an additional income for the corporate employees, but for the farmers farming is the only income for them.

Nice idea mam, but if everyone turned too organic farming, can we produce sufficient enough of food to serve this huge population? Because you know AGRICULTURE IS EXTRACTIVE PROCESS OF MINERALS, then using chemical fertilizers is necessary for us, though we can improve using organic manure but ot is difficult kadha mam.
I am trying to ask, is there anyway to do organic farming in which manure is challenge for us? even during these days cattle rearing also decreased.

A large number of the visitors come from around this location off Sarjapura Road. But i agree that some come from further away
We do hope many more farmers' markets emerge in different parts of the city.
We will be very happy to help anyone start a Santhe in any school or public space in their locality.
We do agree it will be great if many more people start their own kitchen gardens. We used to conduct terrace gardening workshops. We will try to offer them again :)
