- Join me on a fun Halloween & fall tour of my historic home! Grab a cup of pumpkin spice coffee, tea, or apple cider and take a stroll indoors and out as I show you fun DIY Halloween decorations I've made this season along with some fun store-bought décor finds! This video features four parts, starting with "Outside Daylight" & "Inside Daylight", and ending with an eerie "Outside Nighttime" & "Inside Nighttime" finale! A few quick little DIY projects are mixed in along the way including "Pumpkin Sconces" & "Ghost Window Decorations"! From spooky "prop" décor to classic orange and black, I hope there is something that will spark a nostalgic Halloween thrill to all who watch!

This is not a youtube video.. this is an experience ! It is my second time watching.. and, I have also introduced Christopher to my 9 year old son and told him THIS is how you do it! I came back to look at this again. I have to say that the way in which you filmed this at night (toward the end) really captures the spirit of the space. The hand-held camera and quick pace made me feel as if I were "lost" inside, and trying to find my way out!

Your house is so beautiful! I used to live in an 1890's Colonial and they had kept all the woodwork and window trim original. Great memories of decorating for Halloween and Christmas!
Thanks Linda! Fun! Yes, I love unpainted woodwork but the woodwork was painted when we moved in. So happy they left the staircase & a few doors in a wood finish. I thought about trying to remove the paint from the large parlor doors as an accent - maybe someday! :)

Let me see if I got this right. Not only are you an author, an amazing decorator, and creator, you are a musician too?!? The nighttime music was perfect! What instruments do you play? What kind of music have you composed.
Hi Wixom Fam, I play the trombone, but one day would love to learn how to play the piano (and get an antique piano)! The three pieces of music at the very end of the video were really the first finished pieces I've created yet. I just decided to play around in a music making program with digital instruments and see what I could come up with. Actually, I made these songs as soundtrack pieces to go with my story "Beatrix Percival" (so I could use them in the book trailer videos). Decorating is my main passion, but I like to jump around to other creative things like writing and music when I find the time :)

Your house is fabu on its own, but you are the most extraordinary creative and detailed decorator/artist I have ever seen, and I 64 yrs. old, so that says a mouthful, especially coming from one of the greatest Halloween and Christmas decorating families of Dearborn, Michigan!!!! Our house, done by my brother Ken Locher, who has recently died of cancer this past October, was on FOX News for years for his most detailed and scary and creative houses for years in a row!!!! He would have LOVED you so totally as would of my Mother, Irene Locher, who began the family tradition in the 1960's. You would definitely be the new president of the club!!!!
