This game is beautiful. Yes I do own an original KS-23 6ga shotgun carbine. I've only fired it once, and never will again. A guy of my build, that's a good way to break my shoulder. Kentucky Ballistics described it like a full power horse kick. I'll stick to my quad barrel 12ga shotgun, 14.5mm and 20mm rifles if I want to punish my body.
But Ivan. Why not a 20mm shotgun

The addition of Advisors is also dope. Advisors are the Specialist soldiers (like me) who are assigned to various units on a case by case basis and usually have a wide selection of weapons they can requisition and fancy experimental tech. Some tech I've seen I still can't talk about nearly a decade later...
the KS-23's barrel is just under an inch in diameter which is nearly twice as much as a 50 cal
also, 50 bmg is so powerful that the round doesn't even need to touch you to kill you. the shockwave it generates as it travels is enough to kill a person
That is a myth. It'll still take a limb off or rearrange your whole spinal structure in addition to your insides if it does hit, though.
I will bring up some stuff about the A-10, the A-10 is a ground attack aircraft, it's main gun has two types of ammunition it mainly shoots, the depleted uranium rounds that can knock out lightly armored tanks and APCs (Modern MBTs have too much armor at this point and it's next to impossible for the 30mm depleted uranium round to penetrate them now), and the slightly scarier, High Explosive rounds, that are made for anti-infantry. The A-10 of course can also be equipped with a variety of missiles, rockets, and bombs.
As for the agility, it's not really super agile, what it does have going for it is that it can fly very slowly and turn well at slower speeds than most other modern jets, which is exactly what something like the A-10 needs.
As for the recoil thing, that is a myth, the A-10s gun doesn't have enough recoil force to counteract the engines at all, what did happen for a while was smoke and stuff from the rounds fired would be sucked into the engines, suffocating them, but this was fixed eventually

I've seen 2 gauge shotguns before, and even a custom made 0.5 gauge.
The 2 gauge, also called a punt gun, was used historically on small boats. It was mounted between the seats facing forward, as it could not be held and fired. It was not used for war, but for commercial bird hunting. A single shot could kill 50 birds at once. In the US they were made illegal for hunting in the mid 1800s as they were too good at it.
The Punt gun has been compared to the M18 Claymore mine in terms of it's effect
honestly this is one of the better fps's out there. instead of using the classic shot cone for accuracy, the game devs actually use the projected trajectory where the barrel is pointing. so hip firing actually works in cqc. But tbh the game is on its last legs in its life span.

The A-10 will be decommissioned in the near future. It's imprecise fire and it's complete lack of stealth means it isn't as viable as an anti-armor platform. It's sad because it's such a dominating and specialized vehicle but it's outdated. And yes, it has a high blue on blue fatality rate.
The nighthawk was supposed to be decommissioned too, and yet they're still used. Maybe the A10 will see some use in the future as well
The GIGN (Groupe d'intervention de la Gendarmerie nationale) has a "sniper" variant of the Manurhin MR 73 revolver (with bipod and a low power pistol scope)
The reason why they have it, is that there might be some situations where a rifle is too large/long/bulky/heavy.

Both silencers and loudeners are designed to disguise the size of the caliber. A silencer makes it sound like you're using a smaller gun than you actually are (it does not completely mute the gunshot like you see on tv and in movies). A Loudener makes it sound like you're using a bigger gun than you actually are.

Very not fun fact: The error of accidentally switching the enemy's coordinates with one's own while calling in fire missions, misclicks or otherwise, doesn't just happen in video games. Typically when the guy calling it in is concussed by artillery or something, otherwise just had a particularly close call and gets distracted, or has not yet acclimated to getting shot at.
Oh, and 12 gauge is about .75 cal but you can shoot a lot of silly things out of a 12-gauge with a sabot.
BF3, guy picks up my kit....Pump shotgun x4 scope and slugs. My go to anti sniper gun. Freaks out in chat immediately with "wtf is this loadout"
