Another video about the New Holland 254 Tedder/Rake. This time it's being set up to rake hay after tedding hay. Please excuse roughness of the video shots. Thanks for watching & stay safe.
Thanks for sharing! I've always wondered how to switch those NH tedder/takes over. I almost bought one before I got my PZ haybob, but found a deal I couldn't refuse. I look forward to seeing it in the field!
I'm glad you enjoyed seeing it changed over. I've not had the chance to rake up the 2nd cut yet, we keep having rain showers go thru. I've watch a few videos of you & others using the PZ haybob & it looks like they do a pretty good job of tedding & raking. Thanks for watching & commenting.
Good info there. Had no idea about the wide could change. If my AC raketedder ever gives up I wouldn't mind having something similar to urs. One can definitely go faster with urs
The only time that I try to run the 254 spread out to it's max width is when the hay cut was light & I'm trying to rake up a windrow. When tedding, I set it at the narrowest width. One thing I like about the tedding ability is that I can spread out a windrow if it gets rained on. Thanks for watching & commenting.
I'm going to suggest that you go to my channel. There are videos of me using the New Holland 254 tedder/rake on a Farmall 806 & John Deere 4600. In the videos, I try to tell what rpm & gear I'm running at/in to ted or rake hay. Thanks for watching & commenting.
Thanks. There is a video that I posted of it raking hay back on June 1st. I've got to change it back to the tedder set up since Mother Nature is being a little witch with a capital "B". It rained on it after I tedded the hay Friday. Thanks for watching & commenting.
The way I setup to ted hay, it's only tedding about 1-1/2 rows, 10' wide. When I setup to rake, it's only about 1-3/4 rows, 11-1/2' wide. That's using a 7-1/2' wide mower. You can open the unit out to about 12' for its widest setting. I hope that answer helps. Thanks for watching & commenting.

Hi can you tell me the tire size for the 254? thanks
According to the owner's manual, the tires are either 15X6.00X6 (2ply) or 3.50X6 (4ply). Thanks for watching & commenting.
Can you ted or rake 2 rows instead of one at it's widest setting?
