in spanish the word comenzar is pretty normal howver, if you search for it in the cambridge dictionary, it has a c2 level 🤣

I’m fluent in Spanish. Many normal words in Spanish are high-level words in English. A Spanish speaker will find it easier to understand a formal English text than a very informal one. We take formal words from Latin and informal ones from our Germanic roots, as a general rule.
