The scene with Tom Hanks is more powerful than I first believed. If you look closely James Dutton is wearing the Confederate soldier uniform and Tom Hanks wearing the Union uniform. When Elsa says that he was in a union prison for 3 years this was probably the moment just before he entered it. Two opposite sides sitting down looking at the devastation of the battle, powerful!

Sam elliot was born to play this part . Could not be portrayed by anyone else.. Best Western mini series ever written ..

The historical accuracy is impeccable. The acting is on another level. Amazing series. I could watch a decade worth of seasons of this show. It never gets old.
1883 is by far the best miniseries western i have seen. i was going to watch yellowstone first but somehow i got engaged to watch this first and it didn't disappoint i just watched all ten episodes back to back lastnight.
I like to believe that Sam Elliot wasn’t supposed to be in this show, he just showed up one day dressed how he normally would and started doing cowboy shit.
The whole cast killed it binged the whole season in 1 day.
It's great to see the western make a come back and involve great talent and great scripts.

The Isabel May narration is haunting and poetic....beautifully written...
I wish sooo badly this would’ve been 2-3 seasons. Glad they didn’t stretch it out forever, but it was too good just to be one season. I’m hoping 1923 turns out just as good. But so far this has been one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
Tim Mcgraw, faith Hill, iasabel, Sam Eliot....... and honestly every single person on this show absolutely killed it. Phenomenal
Sometimes the best scenes are the ones where not a lot of dialog is spoken but to see the raw emotion of the actors that captures the moment perfectly. The scene with Tom Hanks and Tim McGraw here in the beginning really hit home and shows exactly what I mean. Respect 100%
Just finished this series, and wow... loved every second of it. Not for the action, but the storytelling, the acting, and the dialoges. This is what makes this series so special!

it's strange that I had more emotion on the final scene of this video than I had during the initial watching. The respect and giving got me close to tears. The writing team wins this series!
