Previously you could only choose the specific shape of the object, in Filmora 12 you can mask any shape for secondary creations in your videos! I spent hours editing in filmora 12 to figure out I have to pay. I payed for filmora 11 why would I pay again.
I purchased a lifetime plan with filmora 9 years ago and they canceled the lifetime plans with the 12 upgrade.

That's what. If they do not want to provide the lifetime members filmora 12, atleast let us export videos without watermark that says made with the free version. This sucks, i hope they do something or else i will have to shift to some other software.

Hi Filmora, I have been a lifetime user holder since 2019, and it seems like i can't update to Filmora 12. What should I do? A friend of mine offered me to use his method by using a cracked version to get Filmora 12. It seems enticing to me so far

Everyone needs a constant stream of income to keep their company running. So if Filmora thinks they've grown enough that people will find their product worth enough to pay for every upgrade, that's fine. You can pull back the Lifetime plan. But to cheat the customers who bought the Lifetime plan when you were a small brand is too bad. Remember, much of your growth is because of these loyal lifetime subscribers who promoted your product through word of mouth or by creating hundreds of online tutorials.
OpenShot and Kdenlive are free and open source. So... maybe use them?

Hard truth is: why they should care about lost of customers who already paid and won't do that again. So we can all switch to other software and this is not their problem. The storm in the comments will call down soon. Sad but true. I bought Filmora Pro lifetime (and it cost a lot for my budget) right before end of its life. So I understand the disappointment. I resigned myself to the fact that Filmora Pro died. I tried to understand, after all, maybe hardly anyone used it. So I was going to switch to filmora 12. But now I guess it's time to look for something else.

Caleb, good tutorial on masks. Thanks. Is it possible to slow down the preview speed on the timeline in Filmora 12? I know how to change the speed of the clip, but when I preview the clip, I'd like the clip and the music to be slower when I'm editing. I can keep pressing the right arrow to step through frame-by-frame, but I prefer to playback at 1/2 speed!

hi! when I try to add the effect into the timeline, it consumes it rather than applies into it. Why is this happening??? It seems I can't add an effect to just one timeline, it ends up being applied to all the ones under it. Please help! Thanks

I swear to god - I pressed something when editing a project and an AI mosaic that I added started to be "keyable" - like if I would change it's orientation, it remembered it. So instead of having to cut the clip into 20 bits in order to adjust mosaic orientation, it would key automatically (literally didn't have to press anything - just to adjust the position and the editor remembered it). No idea what I pressed to enable it 😭
WHOOPS! Ya forgot to change the color of the cup's reflection on the tabletop! OMG! It's the end of the world! ( just kidding ) I realize this is a quick tutorial to give out information on how to do the simple end. But while I'm on the subject - what if when I cut out the cup (or other table top object., would I cut out the reflection too and color both halves accordingly or would I have to handle the reflection separately? Thanks for making this tutorial! It's valuable!

No, perpetual plan clearly states that only updates to the current version, and not upgrades to next version, are available.
Now, those who bought lifetime licenses (and not the perpetual plan) were scammed by Filmora, their licenses were simply cancelled.
You would be better off with #davinciresolve , it's free.

Filmora issued a copyright strike against Daniel Batal channel, that's the guy who called them out about their perpetual license.
For apparently a video he did when he was a Filmora ambassador teaching people how to use Filmora. That is pretty scummy to say the least since 3 copyright strikes can permanently shut down your CZcams channel.
This company is really out of touch since most of the people using their software I'm guessing are doing CZcams videos, this will not look good on them and they should get some PR people who know what the hell they are doing because thy are really soiling their reputation.
In Filmora 12 you can now pay us even more money even though we said you were buying a LIFETIME license. No thanks you just lost another customer.

I've loved filmora for many years. My kids gave me a lifetime membership back in the Filmora 9 years. I've bought 3-lifetime memberships now. It's a shame Wondershare markets in an unethical manner, don't believe that you'll get a lifetime membership. - just saying
Sad that a lifetime license means nothing. I didn't pay for Filmora 9 or 10. I paid for a LIFETIME license that stated ALL upgrades will be free. Cool vid. I do wargame videos with stop action moving pieces. I'm assuming that I can do all of the cool effects shown here to highlight a piece, and then use the key frame animation to follow it.
Sadly Filmora will never see me again. Double speak to get you to buy a lifetime license and then you get told.... " You have to purchase a new license " when you originally got a lifetime plan. I'm having a problem in Filmora 12. The old transitions like Blurry Rolls, Simple Rolls, Cross Rolls, etc, aren't working.
It's a pay option now... the screw us in every way possible.
I already got some help from Womdershare Filmora AI, but I'll tell you anyway.
*For some reason, the free transitions that come with Filmora are NOT working. I mean, some of them work, but most of them DOESN'T work.
These transitions won't show up in the preview or in the exported video.
