  • In this video I am out in a field of winter wheat just west of the town of Hardtner Kansas, In the video Walters Farms and Harvesting is cutting a field of wheat using three of their New Holland 9.90 combines with MacDon FD 140 Flex Draper heads. Also in the video they are running their New Holland T9.700 tractor pulling an Elmers Haulmaster 1300 grain cart.
I shot this video in early June 2022 and just edited and uploaded the footage.

Have known Ben Walters for years, not only does he farm but he has a fleet of trucks that haul cattle, grain and as well as fertilizer. He had 20 combines, 10 John Deere and 10 Case, he replaced 10 each year. His farm is 65,000 acres. My favourite video is “ moving combines with Walters Harvesting. They were a great group of people to work with and always had good equipt and kept in great shape. Always look forward to your next videos. Cheers

Plant wheat in spring in Canada. Custom Harvest in late spring and early summer. Work your way home. Cut your own crop in fall. Work on the equipment in winter. Start over. At least everybody gets to work all year. 10 combines is almost $10,000,000 plus tractors, grain carts, trucks, service trucks. This is something you can’t really think about, you just do it. Great video.

What an outfit. These guys are so well orchestrated. To be able logistically to operate all that equipment from the southern United States up to Alberta is quite the undertaking. Excellent video Mike!!

Thank you Mike! Your drone video expertly shows the finely-choreographed "dance" these men and their machines perform. Always watch everything you produce (and always "like" it, too...) btw, using the "like" button also helps me "keep track" of which videos I've watched. Besides, I figure that if I've watched a video all the way to the end, I must have liked it...

These harvesters work so fast! It's great. Graze cattle in the fields in winter? This is the first I've heard of it. I now have snowdrifts 1 meter thick outside my window. Thanks to your videos and stories, I'm rediscovering the world! Thanks, Mike. Very interesting!

Great video Mike, watching here in England it's almost impossible to imagine the enormity of the operation of an outfit such as Walter Farms plus the logistics of moving this mobile company around the States does not even bear thinking about, just fantastic.

we used to run a CR9.90 and i was always on the lookout for custom guys running them to get setting ideas from them as in some conditions they were hard to get a clean sample

Thanks for another great video Mike and for bringing us such a large variety videos, I had one question do most of the custom harvesters that you follow charge by the bushel will buy the acre? Growing up and farming in North Carolina if one former did custom harvesting for another farmer if it was a good yield. They were charged by the bushel, but if the year was not so good, that year, they were charged by the acre

@@farmhandmike I suspected as much. I was in my local 4H tractor club as a kid and they drilled safety into us. When I first saw that, it sent a chill down my spine, but when he stopped at just the right moment, I figured there must be a camera there.
Love your videos! Keep them coming!
