Aww....I loved watching this again, dear Lady Hawk! Mama LGL came in so beautifully and was able to serve up a nice meal for her hungry TF before it was time for her to return to the sea to find more sustenance for herself, as well as another healthy meal for her and LGK's growing chick. Albie parents, especially the experienced ones, do seem to know when their chicks have reached certain "stages" of development and need ever-larger meals. They work so hard to provide the best, and thus far, both TF and TFT are very fortunate that they each have both parents returning as frequently as they can with those fresh-catch, delicious meals. Each season certainly brings us new opportunities to learn about individual albatrosses' behaviors, and WYL preening TF was one of those special moments. It is not very often that we get to see an albie parent preen a chick who is not their own, so leisurely and well. He only got up because he could see that TF really wanted another meal, and he knew he had to reserve every serving for his own chick. WYL was so gentle and kind to TF, that he just backed away 2-3x and paddled off through the grass to find his next takeoff point on the next-lower (South Plateau) level. {I wonder if there is a chick at South Plateau or below it this season? Hello dear EmiW ♥ well said! Yes WYL is a perfect gentlemen albie -I really have fallen in love with him since he mated with BOK and now is raising their first chick. BOK was around the colony more and so we got to see her mix and mingle with others and be courted. WYL had long mating sessions with her - 😅 and I mean long!! I don't know if you were watching back then but here is a video of them together! We called WYL - RED because he just had a red band on his leg. Hi dear Lady Hawk!! 🙋 Today (July 13th) was also a wonderful feeding day for TF and TFT. At 08:38 Mama LGL came in and gave TF a nice breakfast. 💕💕 And at 10:03 Daddy WYL came in and gave TFT a delicious breakfast and later Mama BOK also came in and gave him a delicious lunch. 🐙🌱🦑 At 16:14 she started feeding TFT. 💕💕 Oh dear!! TFT even let out an adorable skycall at 16:10:11 and she must have been proud of him..🎵🐥🎶 Oh yeah!! After Mama BOK finished her feeding, she went to TF who begged for food and she was very kind and tolerant towards him like I have never seen before. 💕💕 It was so wonderful!! 💕💕 If you haven't seen it yet, it's worth checking it out. 👍👍 Love, warm hugs and a wonderful peaceful day to you, my friend..🌺🌸😘💙💙🦢💕

So nice these precious albies got some feedings 🥰🥰🥰, also wow, I can’t believe how far TF is from his nest! 32 feet! That’s a long ways away for an albie waddle, about 70-80 paddles if I had to guess 😄. I wonder why he doesn’t like his natal nest anymore? Maybe TFT ruined it for him 😆, I hope that’s not the case ! Hi Centurian Eagle yes that is far for TF to not only walk but stay away from his nest for over a week now! It is interesting to try and figure out why TF has not wanted to return to his nest. For all the years I have watched the Royalcam chicks - I have not seen a chick do this and do it so young! Most chicks will wander off and then come back. Maybe TFT did ruin it for him lol 😂😂And have you noticed that when a parent for TF comes in, they go to their nest but TF does not follow them?? 🤔Someone asked Sharyn about this and she said that is just normal chick behavior. 💕
I was reviewing some footage I got a couple of days ago and I think that TF must like the view from the top of the hill looking down over the sea versus his natal nest! I don't know if the South Plateau nest is being used this season - maybe TF's curiosity is drawing him to his area! ♥

When LGL appears she first looks at TF's nest and seems surprised to see TF so far away from it lol😅. The 2 chicks have been well fed today ❤🤗
