    Good afternoon Dr. Mike,
    I just took USMLE Step 1 yesterday and wanted to say thanks. Because of your audio Q banks and arrows I was able to correctly answer at least 2 questions per block. You are awesome!

    I thought pulmonary stenosis was found in rubella?

      Thanks for the response! I love your work and consistently recommend it to my friends.
      I googled pulmonary stenosis and rubella, the first link is the following (from the european respiratory journal). It's in sketchy and FA in the congenital cardiac defect associations. Maybe LY association for USMLE?
      The cardiac abnormality most frequently found in rubella syndrome is a combination of branch pulmonary artery stenosis and patent ductus arteriosus, though isolated branch pulmonary artery stenosis is twice as common as isolated patent ductus arteriosus [1].

      It’s standard med student hyper pedantic reading between the lines imho. PDA as associated with congenital rubella is all over the nbmes.

    • @yony234
      @yony234 Před 25 dny

      @@Mehlmanmedical haha very true.
      Sure PDA and congenital rubella is the classic association but to say there is no pulmonary stenosis when it is written in other resources is tough for me to swallow.
      I haven’t started NMBEs yet, so maybe with your expertise you could tell me if there is a question where they make you choose between pulmonary stenosis and PDA?
      Thanks again! Love your work!

    Learning Notes:
    PDA Indicators: Continuous machinery-like murmur, often associated with congenital rubella.
    Congenital Rubella Syndrome: High suspicion in unvaccinated immigrants with the triad of microcephaly, cataracts, and hearing loss.
    Heart Murmur Identification: Critical for differentiating congenital heart defects in pediatric cases.
