Thats a great corner for the bike gear. Don't worry about the brakes, only an issue if you have air in the line which can be fixed with a lever bleed.

Another excellent project - being a fan of French cleats I would probably do the shelving using these rather than a fixed system but who cares. Glad to see a Qaud Lock mounted on that bike - have one on my Bianchi road bike and it works great

BTW, the bike I have needs some work, a new handlebar... And some other stuff... But I drew it and paid for a mechanic to do the job. It's a chopper and it's more than 2m (almost 7 feet) long! 😬

Hanging a bike up is not bad for the hydraulic brakes. If it does cause issues, it typically means there is air in the system and they need a bleed. I think your design is great!
