Asbat here doesn’t refer to the direct children of Jacob peace be upon him. It refers to his offspring including his grandchildren and their descendants. Many of them were indeed prophets.
You shouldn’t interpret the word without reference only from the Quran, given that you reject Hadith. You can’t even tell who SPECIFICALLY are the Asbat by relying only on Quran and you can’t tell their number.

@@mirsalondon8829 Prophets and Messengers are not the same. A major distinction is that Messengers or Rasool will receive a new doctrine and new scriptures. They cannot be killed by the people as they're under the protection of Allah and they'll perform miracles. All Messengers are Prophets but not all Prophets are Messengers.
Prophets are those who continue to preach and spread the message of previous messengers. They'll not be getting new revelations or any new doctrine or scriptures. Eg Haroon(A) was a prophet but not a messenger because he preached the message received by his brother Musa(A) who was both a prophet and a messenger.
Likewise the descendants of Prophet Yaqub(A) have been Prophets like Yusuf(A) who was his son. Prophets are only chosen to spread the message of previous messengers. There have been 1000s of Prophets but only few 100 Messengers and even fewer are mentioned by name in the Qur'an.

You miss such important details of life and law without Hadith. The Quran is for divine revelation and it’s linguistic miracles and fluency, it describes God and his creation and punishments and stories in a divine way no one could recreate. Hadith are life stories of the prophet and his people as well as regulations in a normal human speech way, however it is specific rulings based off of what God told the prophet Mohammad to make everything perfect. The Quran isn’t just a rulings book while the Hadith are mainly rulings. U need it cause I will end up like Quranists who don’t know how to pray or how many prayers they should do lmao. If ur a Quranist u can come to the conclusion u can brutally beat ur wife, with Hadith you know u can not.

"Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him. And we revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Descendants, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the book [of Psalms]."

Never seen a person who does not understand the word "and".
Another approach for someone who takes things literally would have been to prove prophethood of other prophets named along for eg Hazrat Ibrahim A.S. We can find several other places about the prophethood of Hazrat Ibrahim as a basis we can conclude that prophethood has been granted to prophet Ayub as well

you cannot be a prophet without receiving revelation from Allah. A messenger is a prophet that receives revelation AND comes with a new scripture and/or new law. All messengers are prophets, all prophets receive revelation, but not all revelation is a new scripture. Messengers were sent with scripture, and then prophets were sent afterwards to confirm the scriptures of the messengers before. Simple. His argument can easily be refuted by asking him if Noah, Isa, Moses weren't messengers since they were mentioned in the exact same verse

What the debate seems to be is about the meaning of a Nabi and Rasul, not about Ayub per se, am i wrong?
Anyways, not all people have the same opinion on this, among the same sect also they differ in opinion which is normal.
I was searching for this, in case this helps the discussion.
It seems as if Ayyub is mentioned as a Prophet contextually, but also it talks about messengers, so this doesn't validate the sunni position either, this is something i'm still studying and seeing who is right.

Actually the Quranist's guys have a point. If we use the ayah "Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him. And we revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Descendants, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the book [of Psalms]" (sura An-Nisa:163), then for sure, we cannot determine if ayyub is prophet because it's not clearly mentioned. The word "revealed" (in arabic) in that ayah is similar to the word "revealed" in Surah Al Qashash:7 when God ispired Moses' mother. So, the point is, if God "revealed" to Moses' mother, is that mean the mother was a prophet also? However, what we can infer from 4:163 is, because ayyub mentioned among the prophets then ayyub is assumed also a prophet. But if we read closely, that ayah only speak about that God revealed to those men.

It's clear that the somali guy is an ignorant person. He tries to compare the arabic language with the English language, and that's wrong.
If we look at the Quran it's a very common way that Allah uses "and" not to deny that the next mentioned thing ispart of the first mentioned thing, but to make a point and mention something specific after something general.
Let's take an example from the Quran.. Allah says:
"Whoever is an enemy of Allah, and His angels, and His messengers, and Gabriel, and Michael, then ˹let them know that˺ Allah is certainly the enemy of the disbelievers."
Surah Al baqarah verse 98.
Here Allah mentions first Allah, then His angles, then His messengers and THEN Jibreel AND Mikaeel...
Aren't Jibreel and Mikaeel among the angels? Of course! Without any doubt!
Then why did Allah say "AND Jibreel AND mikaeel" when he before that mentioned the angles as a whole???!
It's to put an emphasis on these specific two angels!
And brothers and sisters.. there are a lot of examples of that in the Quran, but we can't mention them all in this comment.
Word "and" and word "or" are different, please correct yourself, he is making a comparative analysis with word "and" meanwhile we use "or" in that case , meanwhile its not a comparative analysis , it is a "similarly" henceforth the word "and" is used there
The Somali guys while argument is is that the word "and" is being used. And prophet Ayyub is part of that and category. But before in the video he said David and solomon are prophets. But they are in that "and" category as well! 😂 😂 😂
