  • A firewall in Windows can protect you from some harmful incoming connections. If you want to check your Firewall settings, then follow the steps shown in this video.
    1. Click in the search bar at the bottom left on the taskbar.
    2. Type Firewall, and from the search result, click on the Windows Defender Firewall.
    3. Click on the Private Networks to see the settings. Similarly, you can click on the Guest or public networks to check the settings.
    4. Click on the Advanced settings.
    5. This will show you all the Inbound Rules, Outbound Rules, and monitoring settings.
    6. Close this window.
    7. Click on the Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off.
    8. Here, you can turn off Windows Firewall which is not recommended.
    9. So, I am clicking on the radio button of Turn on Windows Defender Firewall.
    10. Click on the OK button.
    11. Close the Firewall settings window.
Wasn’t that easy? Have a nice day!

First, get rid of the background music! Trying to learn anything associated with the inner workings of the computer is hard! Background noise is just a distraction.
Second, so you showed me how to get to these various sources, but not what they mean or what I'm supposed to do with them. What is all that "incoming" and "outgoing" stuff? Why might I want to turn off the firewall?
