I'm Doing This on My Own - My Life as a Single Parent to 7

- Matt has gone for his first trip back to Texas. I am on my own doing everything for all 7 of my kids and pets while still trying to fit in the things I normally do (workout, recovery massage a few times a month, my real work...not house work, etc). It may seem like an easy thing to do this, but when the care of the house and family are usually split between two people, it's quite a task to take on alone. There's taking out the trash...checking mail...feeding dogs....gas in the cars.......cooking meals....making the next day lunches...soccer runs......grocery shopping.....general house cleaning....dishes...laundry....slashing boxes so they fit in the trash cans....homework help...school pickups and drop offs...cleaning up dog messes....music practice and lessons....changing bed sheets....the list goes on and on. There's a lot we do around here and not having Matt home makes a big impact on our family. We know he needs to be in Texas right now, though, so please send your positive and peaceful thoughts to him.

I walk them and feed them and they play together. Usually I walk them with Matt. It's been lonely doing that alone too

It’s the laundry detergent that’s causing Chloe’s rash I bet. Try washing her bedding and clothes separately with a different detergent. Especially if you use Tide that stuff is harsh on sensitive skin.

Since you have teens you shouldnt have yo do all the work. Give them jobs to do. Washing their own clothes, cleaning asignments, alyssa and david can learn to cook if they dont already. They can do many things to help. Prayers for family
