whats up man, im trying to follow these directions to a T and for whatever reason my capslock isnt causing me to jump, am i supposed to replace space with capslock for it to work?

Hi NineLives, I can't get mine to work! Hoping you can help. I copied and pasted the lines from the original reddit post, even followed the weird procedure of copying and renaming the config files instead of making new text files. Copied and pasted the exec command in the launch options on origin. I go in game and capslock doesn't make me jump, no fps drop, nothin. Restarted my game, restarted my computer, nothin. Any ideas?
This seems super powerful in theroy but Im still having trouble executing glides consistently, any tips?
its all timing man, just slow down my clip and look at the key inputs and try replicate that timing i suppose. that's all i could recommend :)

i am supergliding with: c + space bar. Can i bind that stuff from mousewheel to c?
I binded it to up on scroll wheel cause i use down for tap strafe. it still worked. I also changed the max fps to 120 instead of 190 cause my pc struggles to run it. still works incase anyone was wondering. just wanted to say that its useful to help getting used to the timing of when to input the crouch jump. but i want to learn how to use this without the config and i am still stuggling to understand the timing of the crouch jump
Thanks for the info man, i have another super glide guide i made about a month ago which shows the best way to do it without any configs, a lot of peoppe said that helped them a lot so check it out if you are interested :)

You have to know superglide timing, if you are struggling with the timing thats why i showed keyboard inputs. Just sslow the vid down if you need and look at the timing of my keys :)
i would like to be able to use scroll wheel down for bhopping/normal jumping but be able to turn this on when wanting to superglide, is it possible to bind it to be toggleable with another keypress?
Yeah it is, just set it up as normal. I use scrolldown to jump aswell, I just hit capslock to start the config

I tried this on controller and it works but it feels like my tapstrafes are toned down now/not as strong
when i scroll wheeldown it wont cap ma fps to 30 ai turned vsync off and it still cant cap to 30 fps. any ideas?
OP has already explained why the configs are how they are, however if you'd like configs that make supergliding easier without affecting your regular gameplay, use these
superglide1.cfg
bind_US_standard SPACE +jump; exec superglide2.cfg 0
bind_US_standard MWHEELUP +jump 0
superglide2.cfg
bind_US_standard MWHEELUP +jump; exec superglide3.cfg 0
superglide3.cfg
bind_US_standard MWHEELUP +duck; +jump; exec superglide1.cfg 0
The above configs are the ones I use, they're slightly modified and I'll explain why and what the changes make.
In the first config I don't have a dedicated superglide key, I use space, the same space for when I'm doing a single jump, such as into a wall bounce, or a jump into a wall climb. This eliminates having to have a key dedicated to supergliding.
In the second config I've removed the 30FPS toggle, this is because if you were to hit space once then scroll once you'd be put to 30FPS until you scrolled again, OP already explained why this can be bad. You can still hit superglides when on FPS higher than 30FPS, it's just slightly harder, OP already explained why 30FPS is easier, however I can hit them consistantly with 100FPS.
In the third config I've changed it from a crouch bind to crouch and jump bind, this is because if you tried to wallbounce when your scroll was set to crouch only the wall bounce would fail, this fixes that problem, and now you can always wallbounce. I've also removed the FPS toggle because since it's removed in config2 it's not needed here.
With all the above changes you can now use these configs and you won't notice any effect on your gameplay, however for the superglide to work you must jump into a climb using space.

i mean yeah thats definitely looks like it would work, i wouldn't change now myself because im already used to my current config. but that would probably be a good option for people trying the config for their first time as it would be comfortable

You can use space, but if you do, then you cannot use space for anything other than climbing a wall before a superglide, because when you scroll down to jump after hitting space it will run the configuration, this will interfere with things like wall bounding
The capslock works but when I hit scroll wheel down it doesnt jump/slide

Instead of capslock, what would happen if I use space to initiate the config? Will that work? Getting used to jumping with capslock feels so weird...
If you did that, you would have to not use space for anything else
Since it can't be used in comp it's only useful for casual play
i just wanna say it for some reason doesn't work with origin I've got the keys to work i can activate the sequence but the scroll wheel down just makes me jump and doesn't duck
so basically he just bind mouse wheel down to cap the fps to 30 + jump + duck + open it back to 190, I know its easier to hit it with low fps but, isn't it ban able to bind 2 keys for one?
isn't it also bad for your computer to change this fps cap in such a big amount of frames that many times? (sorry for my bad English and I'm just asking idk if what I asked is an actual thing)
I havent heard anything about it being bannable and i know many other players that are using this or similar configs and havent been banned
slightly late here, Hideouts recently said that they aren't bannable.

Just deactivate if you ever enter comp/pro league, and understand that is somewhat looked down upon to edit cfg's to perform tricks, however no- under regular ranked/pubs conditions there is no shot they ban someone for this edit.
And no it isnt bad for ur PC in any form, but it may trigger a small calculation error somewhere along the way, that's nearly impossible for us to predict though so if it's not happening noticeably it's no trouble for the program or the PC.

No, it has to be a different key to your regular jump otherwise it will fuck up your normal wall bounces and shit
So the config works well but I’m having issues where I would get random 30fps drops at random times when I’m not even doing the super slide. For example I would be just running or having a 1v1 and my frames would drop to 30fps out of nowhere for about 6-10sec, and this would happened a few times an hour while I play. Pls help.
That would be from scrolling down, scrolling down 1 notch on your mwheel will cap your FPS at 30 until you scroll again

I've found a problem. After removing the files from the cfg and verifying the integrity on steam to reset apex to its default state, I noticed my jump is still key bound to CAPSLOCK. It seems like it has a permanent effect. Any way to revert this ? I wanted to try this with spacebar in the cfg file but didn't like it. After changing it, my space bar still activates the cfg and i dont want that
That is really strange, I've had 1 other person say they had this problem, but I just assumed they must have still had the config somewhere in their files. If it definitely is the case and there seems to be no way to fix it, I could only guess that a full reinstall of the game would be the only way to fix it, sorry I'm not sure as I never encountered the problem myself

Hey, I have my binds that I've made in the superglide config working, the jump works quite fine but I am unable to superglide at all, this config used to work just fine, has it been patched or what?
Nah it still works man, must just be a timing issue, just keep practising. The config just makes the input windows a bit bigger but you still have to time is fairly precisely

Im doing this on my main thats level 500 and has 2 heirlooms, i know of many other players that use this config and other configs and I've been using configs for ages. All ive heard is that custom configs can't be used in tournaments. If you dont feel comfortable using it, look into it more to be certain.

Do i need to have it bound to mwheelup or down? because i need up for tap strafing and down for jumpinh and i cant get used to jump with space again.
I also have tap strafing on up and jump on down, this works even with those bindings, it will only run the config when you hit capslock anyway so it won't interfere with your normal bindings don't worry :)

this feels like cheating - works great. However I normally use mouse wheel down for regular jump so need to learn to wall jump without it :P

I use scroll wheel down for slide jumping, wall bounces etc etc anything to do with movement, except climbing I use space bar, will this config affect my scroll wheel down making it so I can’t do other things? Also I use double binds for other things in my configs so when the thing changes to using a different super glide cfg will this effect my double binds?
I also use scroll down for jumping, this config will not effect your normal bindings, basically the way it works is ONLY when doing a super glide you push CAPSLOCK to climb the wall instead of your normal binding, when you push capslock it will run the configs which will allow you to super glide using scroll wheel then after you scroll it will no longer use the config until you hit capslock again. I was also sceptical at first which is why I didn't try it straight away, but this config is actually genius, 100% recommend trying it out

Makes super gliding really easy but sometimes when I scroll down my fps dies and the only way to fix it is to scroll down again, how do I fix this
The way to fix it should be to continue scrolling down, the config is made so that the first scroll of the mouse will cap your fps at 30 then the next scrolls will do the crouch, jump and reset the config
I notice the config is dual binding mouse wheel down to jump and exec a config that resets the framerate. Wouldn't that mean that any benefit you got from the mousewheel down bind would be gone after the first tick? The mouse wheel binding is to help with timing because you can just spam the input so that one of them lands in the window, but in this case it seems like you lose that benefit because you have to time the first tick to be the one you use, so wouldn't the timing for a different key be the same?
Interesting question, hitting capslock starts the configuration, the first notch of the scroll caps your fps at 30 (making the superglide windows much more generous) then the 2nd notch of your scroll makes you jump and the last makes you crouch and ends the configuration so you would have to hit capslock again the next time you start it. I used keys at 160fps to superglide for ages and could consistently hit them, this configuration timing feels the same but is much more consistent. If you can hit superglides without capping fps at 30 and with keys then you can hit them much more consistently using this config
@@NineLives9 Oh I see so the capslock slows it down and the reason we use scrollwheel isn't to get the leniency in timing by spamming inputs and hoping one hits right but instead to perform a series of progressively different inputs in rapid succession until finally returning the scrollwheel binding and fps to normal. If you do the config, it will coruch and then jump on the next scroll. So you just use capslock to climb then scroll down at the normal super glidw timing

When I superglide my fps stays cap at 30 fps and wont go back up to my original 189 fps what do I have to do
Config must be written incorrectly, you have make sure the 2nd config file states that FPS max is reset to 190

I haven't written a config in a very long time, i don't even play apex anymore. But just switch the input commands where needed. you can see the exact names of all the input commands in the default config that comes with the game in the files

I pray they never actually come around to fully removing them, disabling our ability to play with certain cfg properties, sure.

Just righf click the game in origin, youll see it in there somewhere, cant remeber exactly, been a while since ive used origin

Hey mate been trying this and I havent been able to hit any with the new config files, I've done it all right, capslock makes be jump and my fps goes down by scrolling once after but i still can't seem to hit any. Also for some reason it won't let me get rid of the files, i tried it with C at first and deleted all the files for that but it still makes me jump when i press C
Your timing might just be a bit off then man, otherwise I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working. Also not sure why the files won't delete. Did you try removing them from launch options as well?

Because you had a binding to make it 30fps in the config, you need to set fps cap back to the normal

why does my FPS often drop to 30 since using this script?
When you hit capslock and scroll down 1 single notch your fps will cap at 30 then the 2 following notchs will make you jump and crouch respectively , thats how the config works, it caps 30 fps so that there is more frames to input the jump and crouch for the superglide

You most likely just need to get rid of the ". cfg" in launch options, so the name matched the config file you made
if the notepad file is just superglide1 then match the name exactly in the lunch options and it will work

You wouldnt have got for using this, i know heaps of players that have used it for ages, also hideouts said that custom configs are fine just not in tournaments
