MIB2 FEC/SWaP code installation with OBDeleven

- How to insert FEC/SWaP code into VAG #MIB2 infotainment unit using OBDeleven to enable features like App-Connect/Full-Link (CarPlay, MirrorLink, AndroidAuto), Performance Monitor/Sport Display, Voice Control, Bluetooth and other FEC/SWaP protected functions.
ℹ️ Each #FEC/SWaP code is generated for a specific vehicle, it contains VIN, VCRN, creation date and time, feature code and digital signature. This data needs to be correct or the code will be rejected as invalid by the unmodified MIB2 system.
ℹ️ There are tools (like What The Fec) that can edit the FecContainer.fec file extracted from the filesystem. But this method will let you insert new Feature Enabling Codes with a diagnostic tool like #OBDeleven.

ℹ️ FEC/SWaP codes are used in many modules across whole VAG vehicle lineup. Including Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Porsche, Lamborghini, MAN, Bentley, Bugatti. Not limited to MIB infotainment units, but also for gateway, ACC, and other control units.

5F → Change Service → End of assembly line mode (EOL)
5F → Security Access → 20103
5F → Adaptation → Transfer of release code for a SWaP function → paste in code → write
5F → Basic Settings → Release of SWaP function → start basic settings
Check if new code is visible in service menu and if feature is working correctly.

Hey Mr.Fix, can you tell us about swap coding, on your other video you are saying that if you want to install swap or fec codes your mib2 std2 has to be swap patched, but on this video you are saying if you got keys you can enter them on obd11. Now does the system needs to be swap patched, or its not necessary to swap patch.

Hi Mr fix, I have tried to do the sequence as you have done on this video and it does not seam to work or when the code does go in it says invalid. I have even tried to delete the two codes for android auto with the codes from the website and does not delete. I am using the new generation obd eleven. Any suggestions I have a mk7 golf 2015.

Mr-fix you have shown many helpful things to us but the main answer and solution remains. Please show us how to patch the unit and generate the swap code for carplay, voice command and performance monitor. I'm sure everybody waiting for it. Drop the bomb with one video :)
There are two reasons why I didn't make a video about patching yet:
1. Depending on the unit there are different ways for patching. MIB2High by Harman, MIB2Std by Delphi, MIB2Std with Nav by Technisat, MIB2Std without Nav by Technisat - each requires different approach, different tools, and different level of complexity.
2. I'm not 100% if publishing video about patching the unit is not against YT policy.

Not sure for android auto but pretty sure car play requires a module in-between usb port in car and Mib cos of course Apple charges people to be able to implement their crap.

I believe you need ODIS to enter this data, send it to VAG server and generate FEC for your car.

Update firmware to latest (0480 most likely), install toolbox, use toolbox to generate ExceptionList file.

As said in the video and in the description below: self-generated codes will work only on patched units.

it needs to be purchased from authorized VW dealer, same as you would buy a part from them.
Buy from dealer or, if your unit is patched, you can upload self-generated codes.

When you install the unit in a different car it will detect it (it checks VIN to see if it's not swapped between vehicles) and show ComponentProtection on the screen. This is an anti-thief mechanism that limits the unit functionality when installed in different car. You need to go to dealers to remove the Component Protection after they confirm that the unit is not stolen. When they do that, they will upload your old activation licenses, or leave the old ones which will be invalid since the unit is in a different car now. Either way CarPlay will not work because of missing license or invalid license.
You can but the license at dealers (~$250) or patch the unit and upload self-generated activation code.
