Well as we saw in today's episode its cause the hologram professor (or holofessor if you will) sang that whole song on wanting to steal Ryan's flesh and to have a real body. SO he was giving ryan lotion all season so Ryan's skin would be easier to take off/ more playable to make a skin suit out of. 😬 Its pretty fucked up in my opinion XD
I love how so many people in the comments of this season's first episode IMMEDIATELY said that it was sounding like "It puts the lotion on its skin or it gets the hose".
Shane from Watcher and Max from Critical Role really need to put together a "cant stop putting complex lore involving puppets into random online content" support group
Oh god that would be amazing, or a crossover, I can only imagine the acerbic things the Critters (particularly Flint, Ruby and Tina) would say to Ryan, and I think Travis (and maybe they can get him back, please 🥺) the Cabbage Man would just have a lovely time.
I don't know it's because the professor puppet got better or because Ryan's puppetry skills got better, but the differences in how expressive the professor is from the first episode to current is pretty wild. Edit: Shayne, not Ryan! Mixed up their names.
