    As a powerbank, it takes longer to charge my S22U. For example, i have an Armytek Handy C1 Pro, it's a single battery charger and also can serve as a powerbank. My S22U at 60% charge, with the Armytek it says 33 minutes to full charge compare to 53 minutes for the Xtar. Other than that, i like the Xtar and that it gives me the total mAh of the batteries I put in. That way I know how much juice is left in my batteries.

    Still loving my XTARX4 using it to charge my Nicrons batteries and my Olights and FENIX to personally FENIX has a badass bike light the BC30V2.0 removable batteries are a must! I replaced my Cygolite and my planet bike lights as they have built in batteries.

      I haven't tried a dedicated bike flashlight, been using a flashlight clamp that attaches to my handlebars. I use the wurkkos fc11 and a sofirn sc32 as a headlight for my bikes. Might try that bc30 v2.0. thanks for the suggestion. 👍🏼

      @@runplatypusthe BC30 V2.0 runs dual 18650 so run times on high are legit! Also it has a hybrid beam throw and flood like a cone on low settings but when your on high you can illuminate a massive area! Also comes with a switch you can get it’s max 2200 lumens with it I rarely use it cause I’m on an urban area.

      I use it when the power goes out cause Azusa ca is behind time like 100 years lol also the Xtar X4 revived my iPad before I had it the battery was no longer working I did the whole output with an old EBL 18650 as a Powerbank and omg my iPad seems to charge flawlessly now! Albeit since the battery is old on it the run times are down the toilet so I keep it plugged in!

      It's nice they added a lot of new features. It is pricier but is worth it. Thanks for watching! 👍🏼

    So with my old model xtar charger, the display showed the percentage charged & duration until fully charged. I don’t know if it’s me being stupid (not the first time!!) but can someone please where this information is on the VC2SL display?

    • @runplatypus
      @runplatypus  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Hi there. Unfortunately the VC2SL does not have that function, but it has a voltage meter and also shows the total milliamps charged. From those info you should be able to estimate the charging time. It also flashes FULL when the battery is fully charged. Thanks for watching. 👍🏽

      Thanks for your reply mate! Yes it’s a brilliant charger & so much quicker to charge batteries than the older model, & I Would highly recommend it, But as an average basic user (for vape batteries) it’s a bit annoying I can’t just see the basic information I need for charging them.

    Hi! Would you know if the charging current can be set manually in the VC2SL? Thanks.

      @MasterKoala777 Před měsícem

      @@runplatypus thanks for confirming! I like its features but looking for the ability to set current manually. In your experience, does it charge 14500s with 500 ma (my preference) or 1000 ma? If 500ma then good, otherwise I might have to spend more to get the VC4SL.

    Yoooo I got the Xtar X4 it’s badass! The 2 cell version would be the X2! If you ever get the chance check it out. The design looks like a robotic owl! It stays cool even while charging. It does warm up but not as bad as the Nitecorei4 and Omnidok from Olight that I have!

    • @runplatypus

      Before I forget they got 2 versions regular
      X2/X4 and Extended X2/X4 that means the extended can support 21700 and protected 21700 along with 20700 unprotected/protected.

    Thanks for this review. I'm considering the 4 slot version of this, the vc4+ (vc4sl). That charge speed difference I noted at 2:50 for each battery type, nimh vs lithium ion, is this done automatically by the charge or can you manually set the charge speeds independently?

    • @runplatypus
      @runplatypus  Před rokem

      The charger does it automatically. Thank you for watching. 👍🏼

    Thanks, they look great, especially the updated. I only just bought the nitecore new i2, using it for the first time, but I recall whilst online researching, these were recommended too. I went with the i2 due to next day delivery, but will keep the xstar on my radar for next time. I like the display function. Thanks for the review. How would you compare it to the new i2? I only charge 18650s.

    • @runplatypus
      @runplatypus  Před rokem +1

      I don't have the i2 to compare the xtars I have. Nitecore is a very good brand, they are pricier but the build quality is great, i have some nitecore flashlights one is 6 years old it is still working like new including the battery that came with it. 👍🏼
