I had this virus too and it was miserable. What helped me was moving a little bit every day. Just an easily walk for a few minutes at a time and trying slow deep breathing ( only to the point that won’t start the cough). When I was real bad and coughed all the time, I bought some chicken stock and would warm it up with a quarter onion chopped innit and some fresh ginger and some hot sauce in it. When I felt a little better I made chicken soup ) still added the ginger and hot sauce). Drink lots of liquid and I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Laurie! Boy it stinks big time when a person doesn’t feel good! I went in this past Wednesday for my annual physical. My dr. recommended I get the RSV vaccine in the fall. He explained RSV has all the symptoms of a cold and is more common in young children - but if older adults get it - worse case scenario - you could end up in the hospital for a couple weeks. So I’m 61 and will probably go ahead and get the vaccine in the fall. It’s recommended 60 and over get it. I’m surprised the dr. you saw didn’t mention to you about the RSV vaccine. Just google it if you want more information. And maybe after your insurance kicks in consider the vaccine - not that you have it now but for future safe guard. Love ya!😘
Hi Laurie,I hope you get well soon, I remember in 2019,when my hubby had his heart attack ,I was at the hospital with him for five weeks,and I caught a cough like that,it was so bad, I think I caught it from someone in the hospital . I started taking Vicks cough syrup and it helped knock it out. There is a bad stomach virus going around ,…..so be careful out and about. I’ve heard it’s horrible. Hang in there Laurie, you will start feeling better soon. I’ve been sick for 4 1/2 weeks. Although I tested positive for Covid. I took a home test as soon as I had symptoms. Week five you’ll turn the corner and start feeling like yourself again.
Can you explain why the docs in USA do not prescribe antibiotics when you have so much phlegm and coughing? Isn’t it dangerous for the elderlies if their lungs get congested? Also, does it cost an arm and a leg if you go for X-rays without Med insurance? I really hope you will heal soon. Take care of yourself ❤.
I am so sorry that you sill have the crud. When I had it, I felt pretty good after 5-6 days. But the cough stayed with me for 5 weeks. Every time I laughed, I coughed and then I'd pee in my pants! Take care of yourself. Stay hydrated-rest!!
When I had this crap in March, I would boil some water, sit in front of it at the table with a towel over my head and breath in the steam - it seemed to help me. Also, doesn’t it feel good to declutter a bit? I went room to room, not that long ago, and actually “looked” around and I ended up taking more stuff of the walls than I thought. Plus some Knick-knack type stuff went too. It felt good! Hope you feel better soon.
Your house looks really nice Laurie. You can go to your doctor and ask for a prescription for coughing pills. That’s not their name but if you say coughing pills they will know what you mean. Both my husband and myself have taken them especially when we had Covid. They really work. Hope you feel better!!💜💜💜💜

Funny thing is I went to CA in February to visit my niece. I’m from PA.. And I got sick with the ‘California funk’ as I started referring it as and I was sick for 6 weeks!!! Lost my voice, congested, was coughing up green phlegm. It was bad.. I took Coricidin HBP Maximun strength in pill form and the Robutussin cough syrup and it helped.
I told you about me and my husband having this garbage. I am on my third week. I take the NyQuil high blood pressure sugar and alcohol free cold and flu at night. At least I can sleep. Feel okay, but the cough is horrible! Hope you get better soon. Say hi to PooDoo.
I know you said that you’re getting burned out on some of your beating. Have you thought of doing diamond paintings because Temu has tons of them real cheap I have one now that I’m working on and it’s golden girls. It was maybe three bucks if that.

Me too. Sick for weeks. I am about 2 months out and I still am coughing, but mostly because I get a tickle deep down. So tired of it.

Did your dr do a chest xray ?
Would think they would want to rule out pneumonia which only a chest xray would show and is treatable with antibioics.
