He kills marlon no matter what, he likes killing lily no matter what, if you let him make the calls he always kills tenn. you cant change him or his descisions. the reason he did it doesnt matter, its just a throwaway line to make players feel guilty.

Can’t even really be upset with Aj cuz unfortunately he’s probably never seen the in between of humanity. Meaning all he saw was: Clem as good and the walkers as Bad/Monsters. Anyone falling under the category of being dangerous to his safety and Clem’s would be considered a monster to him. Killing Merlon for him meant getting rid of the monster that was hurting/will hurt everyone else. 🤷♀️

In the start of the episode, there's a scene where Clemintine gives advice to AJ for his survival, only to be played out in a extremely twisted and misguided way, shown in this ending.

Who's wrong, marlon, or AJ?
Answer: Non
Marlon: we dont know to much but marlon sold of two people to ensure the protection of his group(which is a group of 10 people minus clem, aj, and the twins). He did what any "logically" thinking leader would do. Sure a "compasionate" thinking leader would say otherwise but he did what was needed for "Mass survival"( like a thanos for twd). He was also planning on getting rid of two trouble causing strangers to ensure the survival of his loved ones.

AJ: Born in a world of tragedy, aj had to learn how to survive on his gut instinct. Lets not forget aj was raised by a savage. Clem surely knows where to draw the line of oversavagedry . But remember that not so long ago, serious clem didnt even exist. Unlike aj clem used to be "normal". Clem grew up learning the average... Stealing is bad.... Killing is bad...etc. when the walkers came, day after day she had to push these good morals away... She still has them but they are not as prominent. Aj grew up learning stuff like... Kill for survival... Steal for protection.... Dont trust anyone... Never let your guard down... Playing is for dead kids... Etc. He was never raised to be a kid, he was raised to be the ultimate survivor. Clem's compassion lead to some dark roads, so it makes sense she wouldnt want to rub that trait off on aj. Aj saw a conflict and ended it before it goes outta hand.
To end this off...
You are not the characters in this game. You kill and go to jail, they kill and get rewarded. You spend to buy accesories, they sell humans to better something. You live in a world that revolves around peace while they live in chaos.
To you, aj is a psycho
To him him he's a surviver and a dark shadow of clem.
To you, marlon is an asshole
To him, he's a great leader who's maintains peace and calmness in a time of chaos.
Perspective can be bent and scattered. Rarely ever straight foward. You see through the eyes of clem who's eyes are molded by yours, which are molded by your experiences. You have not seen through the eyes of a pure survivor, but rather through ones eyes whom is whole trying to witness a life off someone built off nothing.
Besides if Aj were a pussy duck type of kid you guys would probably label him " useless".

It makes sense how he of lives.
Besides who knows what he's been through during the frontier up until clem reunited with him.
P.s lets not forget that if marlon were to leave he probs would have just gone to the raiders for help anyways. And from the trailer for this season, we can see evwntually this happens( but they come on their own terms).

Maybe I'm wrong, but it feels like the fandom (as a whole) is pretty quick to label the child/teen characters as crazy, a liabity, useless, ect. (Except for Clementine, whom can do _NO_ wrong whatsoever, but eh.)
I could have forgave marlon and believed in his redemption if he only did it once. But no. He also agreed to hand over clem and aj.Not only did he kill brody, he lied and said clem was the murderer. And if that wasnt enough, he offered to kill her "for the sake of the group" If the story wasn't about clem she would have been shot and remembered by them as the girl who ruined their group. He sucks at protecting. His choices were not the best and in times like the apocalypse you need a capable leader. Marlon couldn't handle being the leader. It bit him in the ass.
He doesnt suck at protecting.. he did pretty good... he was just very scared at that moment if you paid attention.. also yes he was angry so that's why he said he would give them up too but I'm sure that he didn't mean it.. he was a nice guy but just scared like the rest of them.. and he also had to lead since all of the adults left...

Plus, Brody also was there when Marlon decide to give Tenn’s Sisters to the Raiders and Brody also lied to Tenn and everyone else that Tenn’s Sister die from Walkers.
They didn’t do it because they want to, they do it because they’re afraid and didn’t look for a different way.
Plus, Marlon killing Brody was a complete accident. Marlon was afraid and did something that he shouldn’t do.
