    Great video especially enjoyed the mule hitch. My uncle raised,trained and sold two teams of mules that were born on his farm in western Pennsylvania. I think that is where I developed my love for horses, riding on the back of his work horses when I was 8 or 10 years old.

    This event requires some dedication for sure, Both days were brutal hot and Saturday especially with real feel temps over 105 degrees. Full sun in most places as well, I was actually concerned about the horses and their ability to function tbh. Very educational programs and its nice to see different techniques and ideas coming together. You both looked like you had a blast. Keep up the great work.

    • @louisecassidy5991
      @louisecassidy5991 Před 15 dny +1

      Horses seem to cope very well in extreme temperatures, heat is ok just so long as they get all the water they want. However, if you know they are very thirsty, they need to be topped up carefully. If you let them guzzle too much too quick they get an awful bellyache. Many of these rural horses have never tasted chlorinated/fluoridated town water, which can cause issues as some would rather die than touch it, so it makes me wonder now where all the supplied water has been sourced, as best pumped from a creek if it is for livestock.

      @judyboyle9232 Před 14 dny

      @@louisecassidy5991 I disagree, horses can not cope very well in extreme temperatures, not all of them had a cover either. Have you ever been to horse auctions where these horses are sent to slaughter for meat? There is a HUGE amount of Amish horses, who are overworked and basically thrown away to these auctions. They are not all well cared for. It is inhumane to see the Amish horses after they have been run into the ground and and discarded and sent through the slaughter pipeline only to be horrifically shipped to Mexico and Canada to be tortured and killed. Not so cool.
