It's great! This was taken out of canon same as enoch because it points to Jesus being king. Another reason they were taken out was because it explains why God killed women and children. Now when an atheist evitable tells you that God is evil because he killed women and children you'll have the answers . No he had nephilim and corrupted offspring killed beings that would've grown and r@ped pillaged and murder the children of God. This lack of understanding these books have lead to things like the demi urge where groups of ex Christians believe that the OT God is different from the new and that the OT God was evil jealous and violent. This belief system still spreads today and "my people suffer from lack of knowledge" rings true even today.

It was from a Baptist martyrology called, The Bloody Theatre, or Martyrs Mirror of the Defenceless Christians by Thieleman Janszoon van Braght that my attention was really drawn to the Apocrypha as many of the persecuted Anabaptists quoted from it in defence of their faith.

There is no other name to call him other than Jesus Christ. Acts 4.12. Jewish redacters and scribes started this centuries later.

Regardless of whether this particular story is true or not (as it's not part of the canonical Ezra), but the story of Darius and the three bodyguards in 1 Esdras 3:1-5:6 was a very interesting read. I hope it really did happen, as it's a great narrative.

The Oxford Annotated Apocrypha or the RSV Bible contains the Apocrypha as well the original KJV Bible.

im wondering is 88 the number of books in the bible? they say its 66 but 6 is incomplete where 8 is infinate, complete but we have like 80 or 81 books right now? since the last 7 books are released to the masses litteraly at the end of the end times? or im assuming it gose somthing like that.

2 esdras chapters 13&14 explain the situation. I suggest reading it instead of listening to gain understanding.

Sometimes, however, the Greek Ezra is called II Esdras: then Ezra-Nehemiah is I Esdras, and the Apocalypse is III Esdras; or, as in the Ethiopic Bible, the latter is I Esdras, and Ezra-Nehemiah follows as III Esdras or as III and IVEsdras. Is there any knowledgeable amongst the brethren reading this comment. Does anyone know why this book was excluded from the canon ? When they had council about the canon atleast 3 person had this in their list what they included to the canon that time. prob even more.
I know you posted this a year ago. But I'm just now studying 1 Esdras and comparing it to the book of Ezra. I don't find anything in 1 Esdras that conflicts with Ezra. In my understanding the Pharisees did not like certain text. The especially didn't like the version of the LXX that was circulating at the time of Yeshua and the one that Paul often quotes. Too many people were coming to faith in Messiah because of these texts. So they started to edit. And heavily. They even commissioned their of greek versions, rabbi approved of course. They outlawed entire books.
The early church just defaulted to the jewish position on the "cannon". But we shouldn't let men or councils dictate what we consider scripture. Does a book line up with Torah? If so great, if not, treat accordingly. But always reassess!

This is a record of the rebuilding of th3 second temple. Another was rebuilt in the period of the Roman occupation of Judea. That would be the third.
Why do people talk about a third temple in the offing? One would have thought that would be the fourth.

How is it the name Jesus is mentioned multiple times? It is also mentioned in Ecclesiaticus too. Not pertaining to the Messiah. It is making me lean towards not using Jesus as the Messiahs name.... I have argued with people over Jesus name until now..
