In the 60’s and 70’s living on the lower east side my yeshiva was directly across the street from st Brigid catholic school. We got dismissed at the same time and every day after school when we were walking home or to the bus stop, the st Brigid boys would attack us and physically beat us and call us Christ killers. Every single day. Our yeshiva had to close in 1975. Couldn’t stop it and everyone was scared of them and hated them. We thought what is wrong with these kids. The rabbi would talk to the clergy at st Brigid but nothing would ever change. Middah kneged middah. I just heard that they put up illegal migrants in Brigid and told the st Brigid people they would have to relocate. They were still in existence after all these yrs and my yeshiva was turned into condos

I am non-religious and as a kid I did say some insensitive things to a fellow classmate who is a Jew, and I look back on that as an error of mine. I referred to him as a Jew in a dismissive kind of way, highlighting his difference to me/us. I love your history and your people and I know I did back then, but when it came down to it with that one on one interaction, I failed. I never said I was sorry either. The problem with rebuke is this. Kiner mitzva v’torah ohr. V’derech chaim tochot musar. It takes time to get there. Some of us ain’t there yet. That’s wisdom you’re talkin’ ‘bout. Yes, we need rebukes sometimes. Yes, it’s the path. Rebuke will help us get our ethics and philosophies in line. But we don’t always see it right away. Like the verse says, we get the musar, when we get the tochot. It’s like Ezekiel said. He ate all the rebukes. It was sweet! It was delicious. We need to get there. It takes some of us a little longer than others. Peace

While Protestants really love to quote from the Bible they always ignore clear passages where it is stated in it that God will never "cancel" the observation of the Law or change his covenant with Israel (Israel of the flesh).
For instance: Samuel A, 15, 29: He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a human being, that he should change his mind.”
Exodus 31: The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. 17 It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever"
Just to name a few about the eternal bond between god and Israel and the observance of Jewish Law forever which proves God cannot just change his mind, choose another nation or demand that they stop observing the Law and accept the Pauline doctrine which tells them to eat not Kosher food, marry gentiles, stop circumcising their sons or not observe the Shabat. This is why Jews didn't follow Christianity - because it says the complete opposite of the eternal creed between God and the sons of Israel.

To my dismay I found not one single Christian Church even mentioned the slaughter of Oct 7th on Oct. 8th or any other day since, its as if it didn't happen in the Christian World. When I was born, into a catholic family, lived in catholic culture in Los Angeles California, and know so many around the world know the pope and vatican, and have walked into catholic churches! So many active duty armed forces thought of catholic priesthood as " fathers" and " nuns" , I always wondered why I never belonged! I hated all the statues and hated how I felt that so many different humans were prayed to rather then God! ( fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom! Proverbs) ... its terrible to be born into such a sinful society! Knowing the fear of God! Loving God! Calling upon God! ...I once walked into a christian church early in the morning and was asked to leave because is was praising God ! Calling upon God! And had fear and love as God! ... knowing that laws from God are perfect! But it broke my heart often! Never being able to fellowship , because they trusted in the mother of Jesus, the aposltes saints, or trinity, ...once I asked a christian why do they claim they are anointed and have the holy spirit of God on them, yet they argue with jews ? Or they evem argue amongst each other? Why would God give them his anointing and blessing so they can take money from the congregation, and tell the members of their church to work and bring 10% to them as christian or catholic priesthoods? They take from the people then tell the people to wait for God to repay them ? Doesn't make sense! It's a pyramid scheme! ...victory outreach church for example has a founder named " sonny " he has churches all over the world now. Started in Los Angeles California. His testimony is he was a heroin drug addict, and Jesus went to him and told him the people will owe him 10% of their checks tithes and offerings. Plus the government will make his money tax free! He would have homes! Cars! Buildings and property all over the world! And what does he teach? For them to tell the world their sins brought them closer to God! That's the testimony most of them give! ...they have movies like " the Duke of earl" and they proclaim God anointed them to be leaders cause they sinned! And Jesus came to them and chose them! ...wow ! While jews serve God and love God! Most christians say they will be raptured to the clouds to meet Jesus to come back and wage war against jews who trust in God and the holy commandments! ...thats their truth!... ...( thank you rabbi tovia singer ,for those of us who fear and love God! And can't understand why they continue to prosper speaking of their many sins? )

So well spoken Rabbi! Wisdom is shown correct by its result. Excessively angry Christians are much like mad dogs. Attacking anything that looks like a threat. But the madness lies in, for whatever reason, having a faulty basis for recognizing what a real threat is. Imagining something that could be a great partner is actually an evil enemy. But Christians don't have an exclusive on such behavior. Such extremism. Saul, before Paul, seemingly felt God's command "thou shall not kill" had a loophole when dealing with early Christians. Besides all the warring between the "big three" religions, I believe India has had some brutal violence between religions. And I know ancient Japan was pretty cruel to "infidel" Christians. Don't know. Maybe it's part of all human nature. Maybe also why both Torah and Jesus teaching seem to both align toward fighting against the worst in human nature.

It is very clear in the Acts of the Holy Apostles what the original followers of Jesus the Christs of the Israelites were believing . The important thing in the believe was to accept Jesus/Yeshuah as the real promised Christ/Messiah/Mashiah of the Israelites as real prophet as real Messiah ! So all Muslims the followers of the Prophet Muhammad accepted Jesus Christ as the Great Prophet and as the real Messiah of the Israelites !
All infusions in the pure teachings of Jesus Christ after the Nicean Council in 325 forced by the power of Emperor Constantine is nothing , but a total corruption of the teachings of Jesus Christs.
So any Christian doctrine after the year 325 is 100% false !

Wow! You are doing your part Rabbi to help fulfill prophecy. As a follower of Jesus Christ I believe in an Anti - Christ to come you believe in the Jewish Messiah to come. Base on this one belief that separates us concerning the revelation of God"s future will for mankind. It does not give either of us the right to hate, disrespect one another. If I can't love and see you as a fellow human being first then how am I to love in the live eternal. If I say I believe in Christ who showed love , forgiveness and did not even argue His case when place before the judges of his day. As a true follower of Christ one should not argue with persons over religion. We share our view but at the end of it all if we don't leave in peace then we are guilty of that which never enriches the soul. Do continue to have a wonderful and bless day.

Raised a Christian, I began daily Bible readings(new and old,) over 30 years ago, in French(to improve my accent; also went on to read the Koran, another story.) Anyway, so many years ago, when reading the NT it became apparent to me that the Jews were at fault for everything, . How could a sect/religion/movement started by 12 Jews and their leader(son of god or not,) and Saul/Paul as a major contributor, turn to such a degree against their own people and many "Christian" converts who were born Jewish? Seemed to me like a "stacked deck" somehow. Martin Luther, seeking to reform the Catholic Church, didn't rewrite the NT naming Christians(or Catholics,) as evil to win people to his side of seeing things. Why for "heaven's sake" would the 4 apostles and Paul, ALL JEWS, start pointing an indiscriminate finger at their own people....Ridiculous. Saying this, I still like the "Lord's Prayer," for the "OUR" father beginning, stating my basic faith without adhering to any religion. I sympathize with the caller but normally my knowledge of the bible, after all these years, scares even(though I am always polite,) the most fervent Jehovah Witnesses away, and I still have my American Accent when speaking French, lol.....Shalom...rr Normandy, France

Think the "attitude" of the NT is an important point. Believe by the time when the current NT was established that there was already a lot of editorial changes to any original versions of the Jesus story. Changes to establish a certain point of view. Who and why the changes? My personal belief is that the why is to disrupt God's message from getting through via the Torah and Jesus teaching. How can one stop a super team in any sport being formed? One way is to split them into two teams that are scheduled to compete. As to who? Think the beneficiary would be the one who gains by the lessening the chance of accepting God's message. I'm sure this being had much help. Personally believe Saul/Paul was a key aid. Maybe not consciously, but think he did his part. Seems to be evidence in Acts and letters of his "sponsor". I'd refer to the conversion. Two main things make me sceptical on Jesus involvement. But all this is just me. Let each decide. But the reasons and motives behind the NT bias and Jewish/Christian split is probably meaningful.

I am reading online that Isaiah 53 use to be (?) read in the synagogue. And it kept causing arguments and people became confused. The Rabbi’s took it out. Now they read 52 the 54. Skipping 53
I am just now becoming aware of it and I can see why it was causing* problems. I believe it was changed (I only Christian bible of course) and it is very confusing to me. Haven’t been able to read fast enough. Im still quite new in my understanding. Isaiah 53 is called the forbidden chapter. Maybe I should have waited on this. Time to get organised if possible and take real classes. This is super fun tho. Where exactly it has changed I do not know yet. I’m going to guess and say Christians changed it for themselves to prove it’s about Jesus?
Changing words is so bad. It ruins so much and harms everything it attempts to penetrate. Good luck with your questions. I will be looking more into this. Jeremiah 31 will have to wait for me lol OK changing

I am a Christian who is very interested in Biblical Judaism. It seems that modern Jews cannot practice Biblical Judaism for a profound and yet even a trivial reason -- there is no Temple. So....even going back to another video where Singer discussed Hosea 3:4-5 which seems to prophecy that there will be no Temple, how can anyone draw out Modern Judaism (orthodox, conservative, reformed, or non-rabbinic Judaism) from that verse?
Wikipedia expresses that Hosea was prophesying primarily to the Northern Kingdom but only later to Judah, as well (yes, Hosea 3:4 says "Israel"). So, it seems consistent that the northern kingdom would have no king or temple or sacrifice, while Temple worship continued in Judah, at least for many years. If Hosea meant that, then why would Jews have wanted to practice Biblical, cultic Judaism from that very point? or, how could they? The Sinai covenant was broken by the apostasy of "israel."
I am obviously not an academic and I realize I am jumping around a bit. So, I fearlessly jump to another related question. Without king, temple, priest, or sacrifice do modern Jews simply revert to Noahide practice? I am confused by modern Kosher and Sabbath laws, tefillim, no pilgrimages, etc. which only incompletely fulfill the broken covenant. Isn't it the perpetual law of Moses that all the precepts, laws, and commandments be fulfilled endlessly for all generations. Maybe Jews owe no explanation to anybody.....but it all makes me wonder. (St Paul was simply ahead of his time in discouraging Christian converts from reverting to Jewish practice -- no?) ModernJews don't do it all, either).
In this video Singer talks about ad hominem attacks and I think he has come very close to those, himself, in other videos, because he is so self-assured.

Isaiah 53:2 says the servant will grow up as a tender plant and as a root out of dry ground….
Does that mean he will struggle with development while raised by immoral people?
Like, will he struggle with sin while being surrounded and raised by sinners?
If so, how could it be about Jesus if he was supposed to be sinless and perfect?
If I’m way off, what does a root out of dry ground mean?

Doesn't he understand that Jesus was a Jew, and part of the servant Israel? Secondly according to Isaiah and the prophets there was, is and will always be a faithful remnant of Israel. The failure of the world being unredeemed, in darkness and evil thus is not on the side of the faithful remnant of Israel but rather on humanity which rejects the light of the faithful of Israel.

@Bible-Christian Isaiah 53, the classic. Here, we must demand context. When a text starts off as direct speech, we must ask the question concerning the identity of the speaker(s). This is an easily answered question when we look at the previous chapter:
      ·
      Isaiah 52:15
So shall he cast down many nations; kings shall shut their mouths because of him, for, what had not been told them they saw, and [at] what they had not heard they gazed.
      ·
It is these very kings who are the speakers of the words in Isaiah 53:1-8.
Another important question to ask concerns the identity of whoever is referred to in the third person throughout Isaiah 53. We know that from the preceding passage also:
      ·
      Isaiah 52:13
      הִנֵּ֥ה יַשְׂכִּ֖יל עַבְדִּ֑י יָר֧וּם וְנִשָּׂ֛א וְגָבַ֖הּ מְאֹֽד:
Behold My servant shall prosper; he shall be exalted and lifted up, and he shall be very high.
      ·
However, you have to admit that this is not specific enough. Fortunately for us, we know that Isaiah 52:13-53:12 is the last of the four so-called "servant songs" in the book of Isaiah. One of the preceding ones, Isaiah 49:1-12, is more explicit:
      ·
      Isaiah 49:3
      וַיֹּ֥אמֶר לִ֖י עַבְדִּי־אָ֑תָּה יִשְׂרָאֵ֕ל אֲשֶׁר־בְּךָ֖ אֶתְפָּאָֽר:
And He said to me, "You are My servant, Israel, about whom I will boast."
      ·
To make sure this is speaking about the whole nation, let us compare it to what is said just a few chapters prior:
      ·
      Isaiah 43:10
"You are My witnesses," says the Lord, "and My servant whom I chose," in order that you know and believe Me, and understand that I am He; before Me no god was formed and after Me none shall be.
      ·
The witnesses (plural) are the servant (singular).
To bring the point home, let us examine just one more verse:
      ·
      Isaiah 53:8
From imprisonment and from judgment he is taken, and his generation who shall tell? For he was cut off from the land of the living; because of the transgression of my people, a plague befell them.
      ·
Those last four words in the Hebrew are what we need to be sure of this.
      מִפֶּ֥שַׁע עַמִּ֖י
These words translate to "for the sins of my people". For the word "מִפֶּ֥שַׁע", see Psalms 19:14 for reference. For "עַמִּ֖י", see Isaiah 52:4, Isaiah 52:5, and Isaiah 52:6 for reference. This is pretty much not what is debated.
      נֶ֥גַע לָֽמוֹ
These words, however, are. The word "נֶ֥גַע" can mean "plague" (as in Exodus 11:1), "lesion" (as in Leviticus 13:3), or "wounds" (as in Proverbs 6:33). This is not what we are discussing here either, though. The world "לָֽמוֹ" is. In any other place, you will find it literally translated as "[for/to] them" (see Isaiah 16:4, Isaiah 23:1, Isaiah 26:14, Isaiah 30:5... you get the point). This verse is not an exception to this rule. It refers to the servant in the plural.
      ·
Long story short, Isaiah 53 does not talk about jes*s.

Here are some short and to the point responses for common xistian beliefs:
[1] old testament prophecies predicting Cheezus:
Q: "there is a 1st and 2nd coming of messiah thats why he didnt fulfill the big prophecies"
A: Okay, but when it says in Zechariah 9:9 that he will arrive riding a donkey, it says in the same passage (literally next sentence) that he will be bringing worldwide peace. Hence Cheezus is disqualified here even if there are seperate 1st and 2nd comings.
    Q: "virjin birth prophecy"
A: Alma doesn't mean virjin. Therefore the word betulah should've been used in isaiah 7:14 if it referred to a virjin birth, God would never be so imprecise regarding such a significant matter. You dont have to trust hebrew speakers for that because you can see the word virjin used correctly many times elsewhere in the bible as opposed to "alma". In context the Isaiah prophecy was already fulfilled in his lifetime, he was not even referring to "a woman" but "THE woman", the translations even removed the definite article referring to a specific person (his wife), which is why xristins grasp at straws and say its a dual prophecy since it was already fulfilled
    Q: "isiaiah 53 predicts cheezus"
A: im sure you heard already that many times in the bible it refers to the nation of Isreal as a singular unit , and that in the previous passages it identifies the servant as Isreal. But I will bring you some extra confirmation if you have doubt,
all descriptors of the servant in isaiah 53 match perfectly to the descriptors of the nation of isreal in other passages in the bible, for example when it says in 53:2 "He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground" , this exact same metaphor is used to refer to the people of isreal in Hosea 14:6-7, Isaiah 60:21, Amos 9:15, Ezekiel 19:13 etc.
this is true for the rest of the metaphors, here is another example
When it says in Isaiah 53:9-11 (NKJV) that the servant is righteous and will have no deceit, it describes the servant in the same exact words as Zephaniah 3:12-14 (NKJV) open them up side by side.
    [2] surreal experiences of Cheezus
Q: "but I heard cheezus spoke to me!"
A: this is not a reliable method for determining which religions are true, because when ppl have these experiences it usually corresponds with familiar figures in that region and culture, our brains subconsciously absorb the surroundings. Thats why people who hang around at the forest tell you about how they saw mother nature like native indians. Therefore it makes sense then that tanakc condemns trusting these visions Deut 13:1-5, Jer 17:5-9

Jesus didn't point to Himself as God, but He pointed the way to the Father -- He gave Credit to the Father!

The FALSE TEACHINGS of Jesus/Cult of Christianity brought MORE HEATHEN IDOLATRY TO MANKIND, for the Devotees of Jesus have spread and engaged in the Idolatrous worship of Jesus, a carnal idol of flesh made in the Image of Man, a Heathen Trinity of Man made false deities, Jesus' mother, other dead people, Angels, Paintings, Statues of Wood and Stone, a dirty painted sheet, crackers and wooden sticks, all of which are ABOMINATIONS to the CREATOR, WHO Commanded that HE alone is to be worshiped!

What an oxymoron...! Have anyone met a Buddhist believer in Jesus? Or a Hindu believer in Jesus? The same works for Christianity, if you claim believing in anyone else than Jesus you stopped being Christian. You can't claim to be Jewish while believing in anyone else but the G-D of Abraham Isaac and Jacob...! You may be a Jew descendant but in the moment you proclaim believing in anyone else but the G-D of Moses you stopped being Jewish.

Rabbi Singer what do you have to say about the facts that Jesus did walk the Earth and perform these miracles. Maybe you don’t believe he is the messiah but what do you have to say about him walking on water and the other miracles.

Shalom Rabbi Tovia, I am a messianic jewish believer in Yeshua of Nazareth.
I apologize that you have had a bad experience with self proclaimed "Christians". Messiah Yeshua commanded us to share the good news of salvation with the Jew first, then the gentile. Christians throughout history have hated the jews, and I promise those self proclaimed believers are not followers of Messiah Yeshua as they are lawless and wicked at heart, and are far from Torah.
The denial of our Jewish people and our culture is a hatred of the God of Israel, and they do not know Yeshua and do not represent Him. The first followers of Yeshua were all jews, Satan historically has used the church to remove all jewish culture and connection and is why the church is so anti-semitic today. My prayers are that the church would return and would love the jewish people as they claim to love Messiah Yeshua. Also that the jews would have revelation into Yeshua HaMashiach.
I respect your opinion on things and I pray that the God of Abraham Issac and Jacob would give you revelation into the good news of Yeshua and would give you understanding into things which have been hidden. Of course you can pray for something different, we all have that freedom.
    Be blessed.

Wherever the Jewish people have settled, persecution has followed. Much to the church's shame, the bulk of Jewish persecution has come at the hands of professing Christians who erroneously viewed anti-Semitism as a just punishment for Israel's rejection of Jesus. The purpose for Israel's dispersion and persecution is not to punish God's people, but rather to chasen them, leading to their repentance. (Deut.31:3) All Israel will be saved when the Lord returns. (Zech. 13:8-9) Rom. 11:26-27)
