On one hand, Terry cared enough for Veronica that he stayed for her until she felt better. Imagine breaking up with a girl after her mom died.
On the other hand, how would you feel if your boyfriend was basically counting the days until he could break up with you?
Both scenarios suck.
Damn, thats a bad place to be. But, I would prefer option two in my case. Having someone who cared enough to think about your feelings would be more important to me than their long time commitment. Just maybe talk to them once you find out about them wanting to leave.
My ex waited three months to break up with me because I had exams and he didn’t want to cause me to fail. It hurt so much more knowing he pretended to love me for 3 months.

Terry is a good man. He knew and how to break up without hurting a girl. And he did only a mistake. And that only happened because he waited a year and a half after her mother died like a gentleman and still acted lovingly.

If someone pretended to love me, for a year and a half. Aka, lead me to think that everything in our relationship was fine and healthy. Then it turns out, that they wanted to break up with me, the entire time. I would not say that amount of time, is insignificant. I would be as upset and distrusting as Veronica, albeit not so cruel.
Terry did mess up and he knows it. Considering he did not divulge about the full story, at first.

On one hand I know Terry's intentions were good but on the other hand I think it's truly traumatising to know that a person was faking their love for you for 1 and a half year.
@@rimjhimroy1237 but it will be way more depressing to be dumped by your boyfriend right after your mom passed away. Loosing a parent is one of the hardest thing in your life (especially if you have a really good relationship with your parents) and you'll need as much support as possible. Terry loved her enough to want to be there for her. Also, a lot of people become depressed and suicidal when their loved ones die. Terry wanted to break up could easily be translated to "no one loves me anymore" in that state of mind.

Terry was being real nice and considerate when he postponed the break up because her mother died, and I don't think he's a bad human being at all, however, waiting an entire year is too much, he should have done it way sooner

At least Teddy, Amy’s ex, had the decency to take himself off the committee due to their previous relationship.
Also, Terry could have just filed a ‘conflict of interest’ report. Holt and the other detectives were all witnesses to Veronica using her power unfairly, she would be forced off the committee immediately, although let’s face it, Wuntch probably would have weaselled her way onto the committee as well like the ferret she is, to get one on Holt.
This needs more thought than just feelings.
She potentially ended the security or uprooted at least one hundred families due to her feelings. And given the fact that Terry was clueless, she didn't even attempt to talk to him about it.
So she let it fester, and decided dozens of families was worth her petty feelings of revenge. Terry made a mistake out of the foolish notion of being caring. She plotted and took vengeance on a number of innocents out of hurt feelings.
All this talk of "imagine her feelings or having that done to you" is meaningless. Take Terry aside and rip into him. If you think he deserves it, fine.
But no one else in the 99 deserves whatever you do to Terry.

I don’t really blame Terry for withholding his true feeling with Veronica, after all he didn’t want to be an added burden/grief on Veronica while she mourns her dead mom. Although Terry did wanted to break up with her, It’s not a black and white thing that Terry deceived Veronica and so on.
He still cared for her enough to help her get through her grief. The only fault perhaps is making her wait that long maybe 3 months- 6 months after her mom’s passing should’ve been enough.
Whats the right thing to do?
1. Break up right away, even if your partner is mourning.
2. Wait for some time, before things get normal.
I'd say 2, but obviously don't wait for a year and half, a few months seems reasonable, so you can be there for them and help them mourn, and that way they don't have to be alone
