I love the USBC EarPods. They work perfectly on my HP spectre for zoom calls with an amazing mic. And they are more powerful and louder than EarPods lightning and AirPods

With my AirPods pro 2nd gen I do hear differences in lossless from non lossless audio

This doesn’t seem right. If they are anything like previous EarPods and just the port is different then they aren’t gonna sound good. Even if they technically support higher bitrate. If the driver cannot reproduce it then it is not really outputting lossless music even if it can take the lossless input.
They’ve improved the drivers as well. Apple won’t say what is different but they are.

Honestly, you are probably better off buying a cheap pair of IEMs if you care about audio quality but are on a budget. For around 20 bucks, there are some viable options available.

Click on your sound settings and go to output and click EarPods. needs to be running macOS Monterey 12.6 or later as well
