but SBI is not a nationalized bank... That was owned by the government from very early... It was never been nationalized... Please do correct me if I was wrong.

It was known as Imperial Bank of India before being renamed as State Bank of India

@@inspectorsiddhartha then if so there would be 3 phases of nationalization : 1st in 1955 (of SBI's), 2nd in 1969 (14 banks) and the 3rd in 1980( 6 further banks)? Isn't it? SBI comes under Public Sector banks' list but not nationalized. Still we can understand it by a fact that " all Nationalized banks are PSBs but all Public Sector banks are not nationalized ". @Oliveboard please clarify this doubt.
