- A walk through of the 350Z’s interior as it sits coming out of storage for track use in 2021.
I cover a bit of the weight reduction features and safety modifications as well as some of the things that make the car more utilitarian.
This car has been through a lot of battles and has defeated so many bad guys. It’s time for it to get the clean up it deserves.

Thanks for the in-depth guide and advice on NRG!
your videos are awesome! gives me a lot of ideas for a competitive drift build for my Z soon.
Nice! Good luck
excellent content best video so far of this series.
Thanks. The build is restarting shortly after delays at the shopz
Love the videos
Thanks!
Thanks man! I'm going to be starting interior stripping soon and this was a big help in understanding what to focus on. I also appreciate you showing us where you GoPros are mounted.
Looking forward to next week's update!
Thanks! I get the feeling things are going to be improving a lot around here.
thanks for the walkthrough. if you need to get rid of those sparco gloves. ill take them
Oh I’m going to use them until they die! And then I might put them on the trophy case.
I'm pretty sure NRG stands for "Not Really Good"
Omg so simple and yet so good.
I've seen the front splitter and how it's connected in a previous video. Is there any way you could show a template / dimensions ? Also do you have any plans for a rear diffuser ?
I can probably measure that for you.
Oh and no plans for a rear diffuser right now. It doesn’t really help that much.
Did all of that metal that held the rear speakers/storage bins behind the seats provide any rigidity to the car or was it all just extra weight? I imagine the roll cage replaced what would have been lost so I guess it doesn't really matter, just curious if your knowledgeable on stuff like that...
It was all just extra weight. I drove it for a year and a half with the speaker box area cut out and no cage and it made no difference. The G35 coupe is basically identical and it doesn’t have that speaker/ storage area metal at all.
Question for you and I hope you can help: My current setup is 19x9.5 +12 255/35 in front and 19x19.5 +22 295/30 in the rear. When I corner hard the car is leaning in the front corner I’m turning in but then it kinda bounce to the opposite rear corner twice before really holding on the rest of the curve. I tested my friends rpf1 18x9.5 245/35 front and 18x10.5 275/35 rears both +15 offset. They seemed to dramatically reduce the bouncing effect. What would you guess the issue is? Too big of a tire size diff? Offset diff? Other shenanigans?
Thanks for the videos looking forward to future ones. Cheers!
Too complicated to tell. I don’t like the staggered tire set up in general as it does really tend to make a lot of understeer. These cars are front heavy and it’s easy to overwhelm the front end tires and grip. I’d say at first guess thr front shock could be blown or you could be too low and bottoming out on the bump stop as well. What is your suspension and spring rates right now?
Could that all be due to the stock viscous diff? Or the VDC? You cant disable the VDC in base models, right? I have a similar effect happen when I try to drift around bends.... Just a thought, it's tough to tell what exactly your explaining...
@@douglasmaceiko1019 Thanks for replying guys! I have an 06 G35 Coupe revup with all the option except nav. Even have the rear active steering for better or worse. I changed my suspension setup last summer to the Tein flex Z coilovers and lowered about an inch then had it aligned at a normal place. I don’t have the spring rate info handy but I will check that up. I’m getting her in a specialized alignement shop in a week. I’ll see what they say and let you know. I also changed my rear axle hub and bearing assembly to 370z. They are same size but sturdier. I do trigger traction control more then before so I turn it off by pressing the button. That’s all I can think of. So you’d recommend a square setup all the time or just for lapping purposes?
@@guillaumeloriault4074 square just for lapping. Put a go pro down there and check wheel travel and see if it’s bottoming out.
@@2THPWR Good idea! I would doubt it thought but will do. The roads in Quebec are so bad that I bottomed out before and know the feel and its different when this happens. Its really not that bad but it annoys the heck out of me. Feels like the car is less predictable. Especially since I didn’t have this issue with the older wheel setup I had before. It was also doing it with stock suspension now that I recall.
Hey Mike what hood vent are you using?
“URAS style drop vent” ordered from eBay from a vendor called RocketZ dot net I think.
@@2THPWR thank you 🙏🏾 so much
