  • In this full #review I will explain all the specs of the 2024 #Buick #Encore #GX #Avenir then take it for a test drive. The Encore is all-new for 2024 and Buick adds new logos, better tech with 2 engine options but they still have quirks which will bring me to my pros and cons.

    Thanks for reviewing an Encore GX FWD CVT with the 1.3L. Most of the reviews are on the Encore AWD/9sp Auto model. FWD for me is adequate for most winter days especially since winters are milder since the 1970-1990s (Rochester/Finger Lakes region). As a teen in the 70s I never got stuck in the snow or lost control w/ my pop's rear-wheel drive cars either the 72 Dodge stationwagon or mom's 73 Ford Maverick (3-on-the-tree manual) lol. We had snow tires. We used to put extra weight in trunk or wagon to aid traction. With FWD engine does that for us. I still swap All-Season tires to Blizzaks snows each Nov and back in May on a 10 yr old Camry. Still never been stranded on snow or ice. :-) Keep up the good work Hawkeye.

      I agree we lived in the mountains for near 10 years with RWD plus fwd vehicles when we bought awd it was awesome but it was over kill. Only one year we had a huge blazed and the awd helped a lot but for one year 😁. Thanks for sharing your experience with us 👍

      Good point. As it turns out, the AWD fad is a hoax and money grab. AWD vehicles are simply not safer than FWD. The two major factors in safety are driver skill and appropriate tires. We would like every CZcamsr to start including this type of information in their videos.

    Great video ! I don't think this is a comparison to the TRAX, maybe the TRAIL BLAZER. I do agree the antenna is way outdated looks like a remote control car antenna , kinda bunk for a 40000$ vehicle , Plus the driver instrument center is cheap and not very well done so much dead space.
    Other than that the Buick line up is doing well but they should be paying attention to detail a bit better.
    Cheers

Replaced entire ignition wiring & have had no problems. Been very happy with it. I will concede that it is underpowered on acceleration. You gotta plan on the interstate.

    Who still wants ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) cars? Why are CZcamsrs still praising them?

    • @HawkeyeRides
      @HawkeyeRides  Před 15 dny +2

      @@PercyY-ib2vx they are awesome, they last forever and no need to wait forever to charge a ev or find a charging station that doesn’t work. Look into some auto news and you will see the auto industry has been working back into them or hybrids while waiting for updates like hydrogen to take off. Ev is not the future at least for another 50ish or 100 years as we do not have enough infrastructure and in the US market we only sell about 11%. Europe is around 25% so do the math and that’s this years sells. Hopefully this answers your question to the ICE (not a big fan to acronyms) combustion engine!

    • @PercyY-ib2vx
      @PercyY-ib2vx Před 15 dny

      @@HawkeyeRides Internal combustion engines (ICE) have historically been reliable and dominant, but they now face significant challenges from electric vehicles (EVs). EV technology is rapidly advancing, improving battery life and charging speeds to address concerns about waiting times and infrastructure limitations. The automotive industry's shift towards hybrids and EVs reflects a growing recognition of the need for cleaner, sustainable transportation solutions driven by regulations and consumer demand. Despite lower current market shares in the US and Europe compared to ICE vehicles, EV adoption rates are rising, supported by expanding charging networks and government incentives. The increasing prevalence of Tesla vehicles in my area exemplifies this trend, highlighting EVs as a promising and preferred choice for modern transportation needs. Embracing this transition is crucial for individuals and industries to responsibly navigate the evolving automotive landscape.

    • @HawkeyeRides
      @HawkeyeRides  Před 15 dny

      @@PercyY-ib2vx I enjoyed your read but it’s not going the way you think. Like I said do some research for yourself and come back in a few days. Not research on Testa but ev research. Everything I stated is in the works, the ev push isn’t going to last as 29% of ev owners global want to go back to gas and 46% of the US market wants to go back to gas. I’m all for zero emissions but ev isn’t that either, I don’t think we need to go down the mining and the kids mining stuff but statistically an ev takes over 7 years to be 100 zero emissions. Do you own a Testa that is 8 years old? If so that’s awesome because for one year you had zero emissions. I don’t know if you know about grids? But it takes up the size of a Wal-mart to build. Now add this to every 4-7 miles to support the ev at 100% on the road. We not only do not have the space as we continue to build houses and plazas. But how long would it take to build plus the money to build them? And look at California and Texas they had to regulate electric just for the few vehicles we have on the road we are turning into a third world country because we are behind. That’s another top 😁. The math is the truth, the sells, the auto industry wanting to stop make ev and the outcome we still don’t have a zero emission vehicles. Oh the cherry on top of the cake 🎂. More than 80% of the grid you use is using coal. Wow, so forget about the 7 year thing.
      Awesome chatting as I love vehicles 👍

    • @PercyY-ib2vx
      @PercyY-ib2vx Před 15 dny

      @@HawkeyeRides My view on electric vehicles (EVs) has been shaped significantly by Tesla, especially in comparison to other brands that I find overpriced and trailing behind. Valid concerns about the practicality and environmental impact of EVs, such as the duration of zero emissions, reliance on coal-powered grids, and challenges with grid capacity and cost, exist. However, global trends indicate a rising interest in EVs driven by technological advancements and environmental regulations. The shift towards renewable energy sources is gaining momentum, expected to reduce the carbon footprint associated with charging EVs over time. Ongoing improvements in battery technology aim to boost efficiency and decrease reliance on mining resources. Despite hurdles like grid infrastructure and energy sourcing, ongoing innovations and policy efforts are actively addressing these challenges to foster a more sustainable future in transportation. Embracing the trend towards zero emissions aligns with our societal goals of preserving the planet, despite economic opposition. Why not join this movement now? While hydrogen presents an appealing alternative, its feasibility within our lifetimes remains uncertain. Beyond EVs, I prioritize technologies like self-driving features, advanced cameras, large screens, and rear-view mirror cameras, which significantly enhance driving convenience, safety, and enjoyment-they're indispensable to me. How does the Encore compare in these areas?
