  • Let me explain why I returned these MAGPED magnetic mountain bike pedals. We will talk about three things I liked about the MagPed Enduro 2 bicycle pedals. We will also cover three things I didn't like, and the ultimate reason why I returned these magnetic pedals.

    Great review, I also watched the other video when you install them, I was tempted to buy them but i think I'm going to wait to see if they improve them, thanks!!

    Thanks for the thoughtful review, brother! I was close to buying these but might wait til the design improves. Looking to switch from clipless to flats and thought these would be the best of both worlds solution.

      Some people say that other brands of the magnetic pedals work better. Getting the right pedals makes a huge difference in riding confidence 👍🏻

    All valid points I ride with a prosthetic leg which has a mind of its own through the gnarly stuff. Even with daggers on my pedals. This seems like the ideal solution for us one legged guys and girls who have trouble unclipping at bail out.
    Road and gravel I’m clipped in. Mt bike too until 20 yrs ago when a truck took my left foot I’m sure there are plenty of others who might agree that we could be considered in some of the relevant gear reviews Btw Love your channel

      Sounds like the perfect pedal for you man. A lot of people said that I should have adjust the magnets better, but I wanted to return it before the 30 day return policy ran out.
      Thanks for supporting the channel.

    Damn these are valid points, I was hoping it was gonna be the pedal setup I am looking for. Rode flats for 12 years, last year got on clipins and going back to flats I feel like I'm missing out on a bunch of advantages I am now used to (w clipins)
    The only trails I still ride flats are really chunky technical climbs (for me personally i prefer flats there, clipins limit movement of your feet)
    Anyway maybe I'll find em used for cheap some day I might try it out. Until then I have all my pedals and shoes in the trunk of my car lol

      @JaredHoff  Před rokem +1

      Yeah, I’m back to riding flats. That’s what’s best for me. LOL on the shoes in the trunk lol

  • @markwilsonmtb

    Yeah i had to play around with these to get the perfect fit. Starting with 510 trailcross it doesn't have the same curve as the shoes you have so the front pins are closer to the shoe on the 510s. I also had some spare pins from my Chromag Daggas and used them on the front, they're a little bit longer than the provided pins. This was perfect for me to get the front pins to engage when riding which is where you need the grip, I managed to achieve all pins engaging when riding. Though saying that it would be nice if I didn't have to use 3rd party pins to get the grip I need.

    If you feel like you feet are sliding around, there is a spacer under the magnets that can sit the magnet lower which means your shoe will sit more on the pins

      I probably could have messed with these more, but went back to flat pedals.

    I tried these on my enduro and hated them and returned them. I was talked into a set on my gravel and they’re wonderful. I hate riding clipless, but you have to on gravel. And the gravel magpeds are great.

      @JaredHoff  Před rokem

      Absolutely 👍 However, for the price of these pedals I just wanted them to work out of the box. The company also offers a return policy, so I decided to return them and move on. Now I’m back to flats and couldn’t be happier.

    Buy Magpeds only if you're suicidal. I purchased the gravel Magped and the screw holding the magnetic keeps backing off despite using Locktite and scoring the threads. You'll be peddling along when your foot suddenly slides off the peddle with the magnetic attached. They apparently are aware of the problem because they include a spare screw assembly with the peddle. Magped has not responded to my safety notice to them. Unsafe at any speed.

      @@JaredHoff I purchased SPD peddles and love them. Double sided, adjustable tension, easy in - easy out, tactile feedback (feel where your foot is in relationship to peddle), no need to look at my feet and best of all safe.
