  • Hey, my dudes! In today's video, I address my weight gain and speak about why it's not okay to comment on people's bodies whether they've gained or lost weight. I'm okay, I really am, and love you guys so much. ALSO: I didn't think to say it in the video but will be donating all proceeds from this video to an ED/Body image related charity that I will choose soon. I'll keep you guys posted.

Organization/Charity of the month: The United States Postal Service
    store.usps.com/store/results/...
What is USPS? Source: @blairimani on Instagram
"The USPS is vital for voting, the economy, accessibility, small businesses, employment, and rural communities. The Postal Service receives zero tax dollars. Funding comes from the sale of stamps, merchandise, services, and other products. Buying stamps from the USPS can keep it afloat. One 55 cent stamp allows anyone to send a letter anywhere in the United States."
Why should you care? Source: @chnge on Instagram
"The chances of a fair election may depend on the effectiveness of USPS. The white house rejected any financial aid to the USPS from the pandemic relief fund. Trump has pushed to privatize the postal service, which would increase shipping prices and hurt small businesses. These changes are happening because there's a white house agenda to privatize and sell off the public postal service."

Hi, I never expected this video. I apologise for commenting on your last video about how I was watching u after 5-6 months, the obvious change and how u still looked good. I didn't know that you were insecure about ur appearance at all. I mean u look gorgeous how can u even be insecure (I know it was childish on my part). And I had no idea about ur ED.
Anyway, I had no intentions to hurt u. Once again I'm sorry if this bothers u 😊
      Stay strong.

I'm fat to be honest. and I know how is it like when people treat me because I look different than them. so I tried lots of things to change myself for them by giving up my valuable time. then I realized that appearance don't matter you're beautiful the way you are. you are like my sister because I know what it feels to deal with negative comments. and I hope you forgive me if I offended you by calling sister.

This is all so true and timely! It broke my heart when people on Twitter were making jokes about Chadwick Boseman for losing weight, and the man was literally dying of cancer. It isn't anyone's place to comment on weight (or physical appearance for that matter), especially not over the internet. You just never know what challenges others are facing. Thank you for always keeping it real! I wish you the best on your ED recovery.

Hey Kaitlyn!! I was anorexic last year (I recovered in September- remember you’re so brave for getting through this, it’s so HARD!) and I’m also gaining weight! I see it as a positive thing- I see it as my body and mind moving on from the old mindset that anorexia gives you. Please don’t be disheartened, there’re so many people who watch you that are so proud of you becoming healthier and having the bravery to talk about this directly. Sending you lots of love 🥰

thank you so much for addressing this important topic. It's such a nasty habit of society to teach people that losing weight is positive and complementing it is even more appreciated. I´m in recovery from anorexia and those comments can be so hard to handle. It's hard to accept weight gain for yourself but it's even harder when you have to justify it. Keep in mind your health (mental and physical) is always the first priority. Even when it's hard, try to ignore those comments and be proud of yourself for taking care of yourself and your body. You are worth it. True beauty comes from the inside and if your happy and healthy you´ll be your most beautiful self. 🍀

So glad you opened a conversation on such an important issue. Best of luck on your recovery jurney, I hope there wont be any ups and downs and your health is only geting better ❤ Just wanted to add that body wheight is influenced by many factors regarding not only our diet, but overall our metabolism, mental health, physical activity, personal preferance, hormones, age, medications and other health issues we may counter in our lives.. so it's not possible to have the slightest idea about why sb's body image might change. And even if we did it's non of our business.
I believe we should focus on being able to love our bodies in any given shape or wheight.
Having said that, change can be good and safe when it comes from a level of shelf respect and it provides an improval of our health. We should selebrate our bodies for enabling us to do increadible things every single day and never take them for granted.
This can only lead to being respecful to other people and.. let them be. Let any imperfactions be their own unique beauty and let their inner beauty find no barriers when shining through the body that they own. ❤ can't you see you are all beautiful people?!

I love how open you are about things like that. I was always a really skinny person but for the past few years I've finally been able to gain some weight. I never struggled with an eating disorder, but I felt awful about literally just gaining muscles and therefore weight ( I work out a ton). I still can't stand on a scale because of how awful it makes me feel to know how much I weight, even though I'm still super skinny. And it's literally just because my whole life a huge part of my identity was looking like a skeleton, and I was scared of people noticing that I gained even a tiny amount of weight. It just sucks so much that no matter how you look like there's always people who will judge you, and therefore make you feel bad about yourself. And the worst judge is unfortunately our own mind :( again, thank you so much for opening a discussion about struggles like this, it will definitely help a lot of people

Kudos to you for speaking out about something THIS personal to you. We definitely do not need to justify why we look the way we look. Perhaps some people want to say out loud their observations thinking it's for your good, but it is SO easy to forget that a digital divide is more often a physical and social divide as well. Do not be afraid to say why you have a particular mindset - you just have to be respectful, and know when to stay shut up. My personal belief is that commenting on physical features, especially empty criticism, is cheap.

It means a lot that you're talking about this. I am in recovery for ED and it can be really hard when someone comments on my body. 💙💙

hey kaitlyn! i’m usually a more quiet subscriber but since i’m dealing with similar things i’d like to comment. i’ve had anorexia b/p for a while, but i’ve gotten myself into a situation where i’ve gotten extreme hunger so bad this binge have lasted for 1 1/5 months, as if my body thinks i’m trying to recover. i’ve gained like ten pounds ;-; you look amazing sweetheart, prouda you! it’s worth it to keep going with recovery, i’m not there yet but i wish you the best! 😘

People should know better than to comment on someone else's weight. I'm really proud of you for how far you've come in terms of recovering from your ED and for talking about it and bringing awareness on such an important topic even though you don't need/have to justify yourself over your weight gain.
Lots of love from Portugal ❤️

I can't believe people think it's okay to say such things. You don't know me, but I feel like I've gotten to know you over time and I'm really proud of you. You're doing so good with your recovery and with school and everything and still you're so good and kind! I hope you know that most of your subscribers love you and are rooting for you❤️

I have had an eating disorder for 3 and a half years now. I understand exactly how you feel. I have always been chubby therefore the -20kg change was very obvious and eye catching. People began commenting on my body, pointing out how good I looked, not knowing how much they actually harmed me. I was in a very dark place mentally and nobody gave me any breaks to put myself together. My life was and still is so fast paced that its impossible to take time to yourself and heal. I managed to gained the weight back and I'm now still facing metabolism issues due to all the starving and the binging. I hope you manage not to pay any attention to the rude comments you're receiving! Good luck with your recovery Kaitlyn! I'm rooting for you!❤
