Story behind the song:
'How Beautiful' was written in a time when grief seemed to last longer than I thought I could bear. I asked God to take it away, and He didn’t. I begged him to feel better and I didn’t.
But in it all, I began to realize… He didn’t leave me.
He wasn’t afraid of my darkness - in fact that’s where he found me.
Reached in, grabbed my hand, and walked me through it.
And when I couldn’t take another step, he held me.
Looking back on the pain, I see now how it shaped me. How it grew me. How it taught me.
I am lovelier now.
Somehow he took all the darkness, all the pain… and He made it beautiful.
