    PLEASE DO A VIDEO ON CLOSED COMEDONES!! For those who don't know they are whiteheads that are have not formed a head yet so you can not pop them. My face is covered with them and I have had it for years. I know a lot of people suffer for this type of acne and I think it would be super helpful.

      Hi Jena , closed comedos can cure with laser trearment or cutter extraction in skin Doctor. But I didnt take that action, since the laser treatment is expensive in my country.. I did ever have that closed comedos all over my cheek near of the ears.. and I use tea tree oil from the bodyshop to make the comedos inside the skin coming out and its works even there are some redness impacted.. and so bad that caused deep acne scars, since Im rushing to force extract the acne by myself without good treatment skincare.. But might be you can try in some areas first to trial and hope it helps..

      Kuilei you can use Hyaluronic Acid Serums and then use a non greasy moisturizer to lock the hydration. Also just note that your hormones (depending on your age), your hygiene (bed sheets, laundry softener, hair conditioner, etc.) can take a role on your skin quality.

    I think whitehead is the most obvious because of the white gunk that shows on the top and you can pop it. They can occur anywhere. Whiteheads have kinda gloopy gunk. Milia is a white solid bump or bumps but cannot be popped unless you use a needle to pierce at the top. The milia extracted is usually a hard and solid ball unlike whitehead. They usually show up on the eye area and around cheekbones. Fungal acne is usually itchy, and it doesn’t have the gunk. They usually form on the forehead. Liah please make a more specific video on milia prevention!

      Liah Yoo wow can’t believe you reply to my comment ♥️ as a milia sufferer, I find it really tricky to get control of them. Some people just happen to produce more of them. I have to get them extracted or laser treated every one or two years. But once I incorporate aha/bha in the routine, they rarely show up anymore. Also I avoid too thick or occlusive moisturizer since it is definitely one of the triggers for me. Also sunscreen prevent them to form in the first place! I rarely notice any new milia now.

    • @ilovetoomanythings
      @ilovetoomanythings Před 5 lety +2

      @@kimmieuyen9868 thanks for sharing your experience! i've stopped using an eye cream for a few weeks now since milia is forming near my eyes and it is probably too rich for me. Which aha/bha products do you use, do you mind explaining your routine? thanks :)

    • @kimmieuyen9868
      @kimmieuyen9868 Před 5 lety +15

      ilovetoomanythings you’re welcome. I advise to stay away from eye creams because they usually make milia worse. Just use a gentle moisturizer so you can use on your eye area. I use avene skin recovery cream since it only have 11 ingredients and doesn’t clog pores. I find that oils that are rich in oleic acid such as palm oil, marula oil, etc. can flare up my milia. So I avoid them in moisturizer. Oils that are high in linoleic like rosehip oil, hemp seed oil, sunflower oil, etc. and squalane are good oils in moisturizer. Mineral oil is fine despite brands put a bad reputation on mineral oil to sell their products as “mineral oil free”. I use Liah’s matcha cleanser since it’s gentle and it’s a cleansing step so don’t sweat it. Also avoid using too many products if u have milias. I use 5 products max in every routine. I use Paula’s choice 2% bha liquid and 8% aha lotion, alternate between the 2 and exfoliate around 2-3 times a week at night. I also use 10% azelaic acid mix with my moisturizer and hada labo premium lotion with 3% urea at night can help because it prevents the build up of keratin since that’s the trigger of milia. Always wear a sunscreen in a day time and choose one that is light enough so it doesn’t cause milia and prevents milia to form in the first place. Avoid rubbing your skin too hard cause it can cause milia too. If you have a lot of them I advise to go get them extracted then start from a clean slate to prevent them. Hope this helps ♥️

For the longest time I’ve always thought they are only caused by sebum/dead skin cells but I exfoliate regularly so I didn’t know why I still get them randomly. And I don’t have dry/oily skin so I never thought I needed to moisturise even more. Thanks Liah! I finally know why.

    Love this video Liah :) I've struggled with fungal folliculitis in the past and recently had a breakout after taking antibiotics. It’s recurrent and can take months to resolve but if you do all of the following it should be gone in 1-2 weeks:
    - Never pick or extract fungal acne; it will only become very painful and inflamed
    - Use chemical exfoliants like salicylic acid (The Ordinary) on affected areas DAILY. If you do, you must wear sunscreen but make sure it is oil-free and non-comedogenic
    - Use products with anti-fungal ingredients like sulphur (Selsun shampoo or Mario Badescu Drying Mask), zinc pyrithione (Head & Shoulders) and tea tree (Thursday Plantation). If your fungal acne is persistent, use ALL of these ingredients
    - Dry your hair and skin immediately after showering or exercise
    - If you live in a humid climate or have oily skin, avoid occlusive ingredients like mineral oil and humectants like glycerin - be wary of hair products too, i.e. conditioners and hair oils
    - Change your towels and pillowcases weekly
    - Wash your makeup brushes using alcohol based cleanser
    - Reduce sugar intake and take probiotics

    So glad your channel is around, LIAH... After moving to NY from CA, I got fungal acne.
    After becoming discouraged and self-conscious, I just have up on trying new products that weren't working and decided to just #pressreset bc I had nothing to lose at that point. With an oil cleanser, face wash, skin food propolis, and squalane moisturizer - my skin completely cleared up. I haven't been without skin problems since HIGH SCHOOL and I'm so grateful to see how my skin has changed bc of all you shared and researched for us/your followers 🧡
    I still want to treat my acne scars and even out my reddish skin tone... and I still get pimples around that time of the month... but it's SO helpful to know I can rely on detoxing products as a viable method for letting my skin improve, as opposed to feeling like I have to buy "savior" products.
    (Although ... I am excited to try your new serum next week!)

    • @justtrash1992
      @justtrash1992 Před 5 lety +2

      T ybag, she already did a video on that. I recommend Cerave products since they're affordable and gentle for your skin. Avoid fragrance since they serve no purpose in skincare and can cause irritation. I'm a teenager too and in all honesty, you don't need such a complicated skincare routine. I wasted my money down the drain on $54 moisturizers that were the size of my palm.
      Use a simple ph balanced cleanser and apply moisturizer while your skin is still damp. Use either Cerave Sa wash or Zapzyt acne wash since in teenage years our skin tends to be more breakout prone, I personally use Zapzyt to calm down my breakouts and the whitesheads, blackheads, and texture. Then apply sunscreen to protect your skin. Liah's skincare line: Krave beauty has amazing products too? She's coming out with serum full of benefits for the skin on the Feb. 22nd

      I have no idea if it would work for you, but I thought it can do no harm. Over a year ago my skin was terrible, I had tons of whiteheads on my forehead. As if this wasn't enough I treated it wrong and my skin got even worse.
      I would recommend you to find yourself effective but gentle makeup removers (first use the oil based one and then the water based one with low pH). I think it is the most important step of them all, if you don't wash everything off (makeup, excess sebum etc) then it doesn't matter what you apply on top of your skin, because it doesn't have a chance to work.
      Secondly, use only chemical exfoliators. You use mandelic acid which is AHA. I would rather use BHA, because it actually gets deeper into your skin while AHA just works on the top. BHA alone didn't work as well for me though.
      The miracle product for me was The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion. I have used it just for few months and my skin is almost back to normal.
      Thirdly, in general search for products that are more targeted torwards sensitive skin etc. Just keek your skin barrier healthy and don't use harsh products.
      My clear skin formula is healthy skin barrier + retinoid.
      I hope that it helps 😊

    • @VoiceTalk52
      @VoiceTalk52 Před 5 lety +3

      So key to using any humectant, whether that be glycerin, aloe Vera or HA, is to always use an occlusive moisturizer on top. This goes for anyone living in any climate. When you leave a humectant on the skin, without sealing it in, the humectant evaporates from the surface of the skin as well as taking away some water from the deep layers of the skin. This leads to dehydration. Check out dr dray’s videos on moisturizers and the like. She explains it really well!! Good luck!
