PLEASE DO A VIDEO ON CLOSED COMEDONES!! For those who don't know they are whiteheads that are have not formed a head yet so you can not pop them. My face is covered with them and I have had it for years. I know a lot of people suffer for this type of acne and I think it would be super helpful.
Hi Jena , closed comedos can cure with laser trearment or cutter extraction in skin Doctor. But I didnt take that action, since the laser treatment is expensive in my country.. I did ever have that closed comedos all over my cheek near of the ears.. and I use tea tree oil from the bodyshop to make the comedos inside the skin coming out and its works even there are some redness impacted.. and so bad that caused deep acne scars, since Im rushing to force extract the acne by myself without good treatment skincare.. But might be you can try in some areas first to trial and hope it helps..
my face is covered with them for yearsssss
Salicylic acid wash or AHA. I recommend either Cerave SA cleanser or Zapzyt. I use zapzyt and the appearance of my CC’s have lessened. You should watch Dr Dray’s video on Closed comedones, she’s a great and informative dermatologist :)
The same. They are just sitting under my skin for months and break out eventually. The texture of the skin is so unpleasant because of them.
@@justtrash1992 I will try the products and watch the video, thank you!
I feel like I have a mixture of these three + proper acne🥺🥺🥺
SAME
Same and i had it for the longest time
20 years so far.😭
It’s ruining my life :((
I feel you!
first i undermoisturize now i overmoisturize and am having a fungal acne rave on my face, cant win
Change your moisturisers. With the good moisturisers, you can overmoisturize and not feed fungal acne (Malessezia)
Only put some moisturiser one place you get dry and leave the oily parts alone that’s what I do and it helps
Vanessa Galun now my skin is dehydrated and has fungal acne at the same time 😂 so idk what to do since I need to moisturize for the dehydration. Any tips?
bigbadcow same it sucks
Lmao me too
I’m confused because I have fungal acne which you said can be triggered by over moisturizing but I also have whiteheads which you may need more moisture to heal.
Kuilei you can use Hyaluronic Acid Serums and then use a non greasy moisturizer to lock the hydration. Also just note that your hormones (depending on your age), your hygiene (bed sheets, laundry softener, hair conditioner, etc.) can take a role on your skin quality.
if its fungal go to a derm you need to get a prescription
thank you
i use cerave moisturizer because it's moisturize your skin without feeling greasy. just matte but moist for almost 24hours . my fungal acne is gone rn
It goes the same with me, i even dont use moisturizer only on my forehead (because its where my acne is), idk whether its fungal or closed whitehead :(
The universe is so strange. I've struggled with deciphering the difference between these 3 for so long and just googled yesterday how to tell the difference between the 3, but could not find any sources that had the information I was looking for. I was shocked to see this pop up on my subscription box. Thank you skin gods (and Leah!)
Alex literally, same!!
LOL that’s the algorithm for you
Alex It’s not “the universe” that led you here. It’s GOD... CAN YOU GIVE HIM SOME CREDIT!!! 🙄🙄🙄🤦🏾♀️
Its not universe lol its google its add and suggestions! That's data science for ya
Not every single person in the world believes in god. Anyways it's not gods work it's mostlikey videos you been watching
Perfect! You cover everything super comprehensively and understandably! And your info-graphics are adorably convenient! Muahhh!
I think whitehead is the most obvious because of the white gunk that shows on the top and you can pop it. They can occur anywhere. Whiteheads have kinda gloopy gunk. Milia is a white solid bump or bumps but cannot be popped unless you use a needle to pierce at the top. The milia extracted is usually a hard and solid ball unlike whitehead. They usually show up on the eye area and around cheekbones. Fungal acne is usually itchy, and it doesn’t have the gunk. They usually form on the forehead. Liah please make a more specific video on milia prevention!
Well summarized!💕
Liah Yoo wow can’t believe you reply to my comment ♥️ as a milia sufferer, I find it really tricky to get control of them. Some people just happen to produce more of them. I have to get them extracted or laser treated every one or two years. But once I incorporate aha/bha in the routine, they rarely show up anymore. Also I avoid too thick or occlusive moisturizer since it is definitely one of the triggers for me. Also sunscreen prevent them to form in the first place! I rarely notice any new milia now.
@@kimmieuyen9868 thanks for sharing your experience! i've stopped using an eye cream for a few weeks now since milia is forming near my eyes and it is probably too rich for me. Which aha/bha products do you use, do you mind explaining your routine? thanks :)
ilovetoomanythings you’re welcome. I advise to stay away from eye creams because they usually make milia worse. Just use a gentle moisturizer so you can use on your eye area. I use avene skin recovery cream since it only have 11 ingredients and doesn’t clog pores. I find that oils that are rich in oleic acid such as palm oil, marula oil, etc. can flare up my milia. So I avoid them in moisturizer. Oils that are high in linoleic like rosehip oil, hemp seed oil, sunflower oil, etc. and squalane are good oils in moisturizer. Mineral oil is fine despite brands put a bad reputation on mineral oil to sell their products as “mineral oil free”. I use Liah’s matcha cleanser since it’s gentle and it’s a cleansing step so don’t sweat it. Also avoid using too many products if u have milias. I use 5 products max in every routine. I use Paula’s choice 2% bha liquid and 8% aha lotion, alternate between the 2 and exfoliate around 2-3 times a week at night. I also use 10% azelaic acid mix with my moisturizer and hada labo premium lotion with 3% urea at night can help because it prevents the build up of keratin since that’s the trigger of milia. Always wear a sunscreen in a day time and choose one that is light enough so it doesn’t cause milia and prevents milia to form in the first place. Avoid rubbing your skin too hard cause it can cause milia too. If you have a lot of them I advise to go get them extracted then start from a clean slate to prevent them. Hope this helps ♥️
@@kimmieuyen9868 tysm that was very insightful!
wow I never knew whiteheads can be caused by dehydration as well! For the longest time I’ve always thought they are only caused by sebum/dead skin cells but I exfoliate regularly so I didn’t know why I still get them randomly. And I don’t have dry/oily skin so I never thought I needed to moisturise even more. Thanks Liah! I finally know why.
that the white heads are increasing. I have not put any moisturizer. I want to solve this problem?
Update? Has your skin improved?
Drink lots of water. That's how I can always tell when I'm dehydrated. It's crazy how our body gives up signs
I squealed when I saw the notification . I haven't watched the video yet but I just wanna let you know how grateful I am that you've done one! I've been struggling with milia on my forehead for the past two years now and although they are mostly gone, they keep coming back when I'm out in the sun for too long(this, no matter how much spf 35 sunscreen I apply 😞) so thank you, Liah! I'm sure I will love the tips you've shared. You're the best! 💟 love, from India
Finally, the MILIA!
I'm struggling with this type of acne since high school, now I'm 24. It become problem in my daily life
M. Stilinski 24 me too 😔..did your milia go away?
I’m confused. In the packaging of kale lalu yAHA it says that avoid area. But on this video, shet put it directly on the eye area. What to do? 😫
Baby Jane Borja email the krave beauty! They will tell you the answer
I'm trying tea tree oil on mine. Does that work?
It just means youre using a very heavy moisturizer. Switch it up 😊
so glad to have u back on YT more often!! hehe. maybe you could do an updated video on bb, cc creams, tinted moisturisers, foundations and concealer!! would love to hear suggestionss
Not skincare-related but can I just say that Liah's voice is so sooooothing 😍
Lol
A lot of people seem to think they have fungal acne when really their skin could just be dehydrated. Hydrate and nourish your skin for a few weeks (with fungal acne safe moisturisers/hydrators, just to be on the safe side) for a few weeks and see if the bumps start going down on their own.
Amisachi I recommend the cerave moisturizing cream in the tub or Squalane oil
@@amariajoseph9216 is cerave good to oily skin?
Jessa P I have extremely oily skin and I’ve actually noticed a reduction in the amount of oil I’m producing so I think it’s great for oily skin.
@@amariajoseph9216 can cerave moisturizing cream cause closed comedones? I don't know if i have fungal acne or closed comedones
Ketoconazole, zinc pyrithione, piroctone olamine are efficient against fungal acne. I like piroctone olamine better since it is very mild and less concentrated and still effective.
I remember your first video about fungal acne and that saves my skin ❤️ Thank you so much liah you are one great skincare guru 😊
Omg so perfect time! I recently suffered from bumps that’s not red inflamed acne and it’s making me crazy! I think it’s whitehead and definitely because of dehydration. Thank you 🌴🌴
hi guys i've dealt with fungal acne for more than 4 years but i've found a routine that has made it go away i wanna share it with you because i really think it could help if you feel like you've tried everything
so, in the am i wash my face with lukewarm water, then moisturize with cerave moisturizing cream (the one in the tub) and last elta md clear sunscreen
in the pm i use cerave hydrating cleanser, a hydrating toner (isntree HA), eucerin urea 5% cream and lastly cerave moisturizing cream with squalane oil. i use aloe vera a couple times a week and i use a humdifier at night and stay away from exfoliation in the mean time hope this helps someone!
thank you!!
Is your skin free from fungal acne now?
@@ilovelalisamanoban1798 yep it took about 2 months for it to completely go away
do you wear sunscreen?
Thanks! But do you think it will come back if you like use a fungal acne trigger ingredient? Or it will not come back anymore?

Please please make us a video of how to survive a breakout, my skin was doing great the past 4 months but I had a major breakout recently 😑
Love this video Liah :) I've struggled with fungal folliculitis in the past and recently had a breakout after taking antibiotics. It’s recurrent and can take months to resolve but if you do all of the following it should be gone in 1-2 weeks:
- Never pick or extract fungal acne; it will only become very painful and inflamed
- Use chemical exfoliants like salicylic acid (The Ordinary) on affected areas DAILY. If you do, you must wear sunscreen but make sure it is oil-free and non-comedogenic
- Use products with anti-fungal ingredients like sulphur (Selsun shampoo or Mario Badescu Drying Mask), zinc pyrithione (Head & Shoulders) and tea tree (Thursday Plantation). If your fungal acne is persistent, use ALL of these ingredients
- Dry your hair and skin immediately after showering or exercise
- If you live in a humid climate or have oily skin, avoid occlusive ingredients like mineral oil and humectants like glycerin - be wary of hair products too, i.e. conditioners and hair oils
- Change your towels and pillowcases weekly
- Wash your makeup brushes using alcohol based cleanser
- Reduce sugar intake and take probiotics
Can you please recommend some sunscreens for that? And thank you so much for the tips! Also, how do you incorporate tea tree into your routine and what do you dilute it with?
Hi can you please make a video about sebaceous filament. I've tried everything but nothing works.
Thank you Liah! now I know better about the difference between this three culprit for my skin-texture problem~ 😘🌴🌴
Very enlightening as always! Thanks Liah! 💕😊👍🏻
now i still kinda confuse which type of acne i had whether it is milia or whiteheads. but thank you for sharing this! it's much helpful
The milia has the same shape and size. The white heads are different between them.

Hi Liah!! Hello from Myanmar 🇲🇲 this video help me a lot I have a lot of bumps of my skin and I’m never sure if it’s fungal acne or whiteheads after watching this video it turns out to be whitheads 😆
glad you identified it!! whiteheads are fairly easier to treat xx
I've had milia for years like I wait and it just moves around. I went to a dermatologist and all they say is just to wait some more like tf

I've got tiny bumps on my forehead but it isn't itchy
My cuz recently had fungal acne and she just washed her face with mild sulfur soap and azelaic acid in the mornings and mask her face with plain Greek yoghurt every night. Her face is rid of all the fungal acne now 😉 Hope this helps some of you
Hi Liah, is there a way to lighten sun spots? Or is sun spots considered as a hyperpigmentation? 😯
So glad your channel is around, LIAH... After moving to NY from CA, I got fungal acne.
After becoming discouraged and self-conscious, I just have up on trying new products that weren't working and decided to just #pressreset bc I had nothing to lose at that point. With an oil cleanser, face wash, skin food propolis, and squalane moisturizer - my skin completely cleared up. I haven't been without skin problems since HIGH SCHOOL and I'm so grateful to see how my skin has changed bc of all you shared and researched for us/your followers 🧡
I still want to treat my acne scars and even out my reddish skin tone... and I still get pimples around that time of the month... but it's SO helpful to know I can rely on detoxing products as a viable method for letting my skin improve, as opposed to feeling like I have to buy "savior" products.
(Although ... I am excited to try your new serum next week!)
i got fungal acne last summer while working in an extremely hot kitchen for a couple of days when our air conditioner basically broke down. i woke up the next morning and my entire face had broken out, especially in my T-zone. i immediately minimized my skincare routine to these steps: double cleanse, aloe vera toner or the Cosrx one step pimple pad, and rosehip oil. my skin completely cleared up in 10 days.
I can feel the pain! :/ so glad to hear that you were able to treat it xx
Rosehip oil isn't Fungal acne safe I guess
Finally my cystic acne cleared up and now I’ve fungal acne, milia and so on!! Feeling thankful 😅
Sameee 😭

can you please do a video about teenage skin + product recommendations?
T ybag, she already did a video on that. I recommend Cerave products since they're affordable and gentle for your skin. Avoid fragrance since they serve no purpose in skincare and can cause irritation. I'm a teenager too and in all honesty, you don't need such a complicated skincare routine. I wasted my money down the drain on $54 moisturizers that were the size of my palm.
Use a simple ph balanced cleanser and apply moisturizer while your skin is still damp. Use either Cerave Sa wash or Zapzyt acne wash since in teenage years our skin tends to be more breakout prone, I personally use Zapzyt to calm down my breakouts and the whitesheads, blackheads, and texture. Then apply sunscreen to protect your skin. Liah's skincare line: Krave beauty has amazing products too? She's coming out with serum full of benefits for the skin on the Feb. 22nd
I know this question isn’t related to the video but does a tinted moisturizer help cover post inflammatory erythema? Btw my skin is very oily

Hey Liah! Can you teach us more about sebaceous filaments in one of your videos? My skin is generally clear but I get so much sebaceous filaments and it gets so annoying especially when it becomes MORE OBVIOUS when I have foundation and powder on :(
yeahh i know right but idont know what product should i wear i just wear cleanser toner sheet mask moistutizer only. can i know what product are you wearing?
Imostly get white heads. So many. Especially on my chin 😕 I've also noticed I get them a lot if I eat fast food. Also, they can definitely hurt sometimes when they get really big. I've been using a mandelic acid toner a couple times a week and I don't think it's working 😢
Change your diet. Fast food is full of hormones.
same i get them mostly on my chin! i tried mandelic acid and i don’t think it did much but i feel like salicylic acid has been really helping
I have no idea if it would work for you, but I thought it can do no harm. Over a year ago my skin was terrible, I had tons of whiteheads on my forehead. As if this wasn't enough I treated it wrong and my skin got even worse.
I would recommend you to find yourself effective but gentle makeup removers (first use the oil based one and then the water based one with low pH). I think it is the most important step of them all, if you don't wash everything off (makeup, excess sebum etc) then it doesn't matter what you apply on top of your skin, because it doesn't have a chance to work.
Secondly, use only chemical exfoliators. You use mandelic acid which is AHA. I would rather use BHA, because it actually gets deeper into your skin while AHA just works on the top. BHA alone didn't work as well for me though.
The miracle product for me was The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion. I have used it just for few months and my skin is almost back to normal.
Thirdly, in general search for products that are more targeted torwards sensitive skin etc. Just keek your skin barrier healthy and don't use harsh products.
My clear skin formula is healthy skin barrier + retinoid.
I hope that it helps 😊
@@aroonia8 I agree. Those are pretty solid recommendations
Remember, skin care can take a while for you to see results. And by a while I mean a month to six weeks minimum, but more like 2 to 3 months to really know if what you're doing is effective. That includes not adding new things during that time. Don't give up!
Love your Chanel Liah! ❤️
Great information, thank you. I have milia since i was young. Dont think it turnsover since it has been there forever. Is there any prevention method or product recommendations. I have blackhead and flaky cheeks too. thank you

What's the ratio of the acv, turmeric? Tia
@@yuliannakhomych7619 hello, the ACV is very acidic, so it creates a hostile environment for the yeast to grow. You can dilute it a bit with water and then mix it with turmeric until it forms a paste.

Could you please do a video on how to hydrate your skin in dry climates like California and Arizona, etc? Because everyone says hylaronic acid can suck moisture from the face when the air is dry, making it worse. So I'm super confused as to how to keep my face hydrated when the air is always dry and never full of moisture :/
So key to using any humectant, whether that be glycerin, aloe Vera or HA, is to always use an occlusive moisturizer on top. This goes for anyone living in any climate. When you leave a humectant on the skin, without sealing it in, the humectant evaporates from the surface of the skin as well as taking away some water from the deep layers of the skin. This leads to dehydration. Check out dr dray’s videos on moisturizers and the like. She explains it really well!! Good luck!
@@VoiceTalk52 well said, couldn't agree more 😊 Cerave Moisturizing Cream is an occlusive miracle 😊
Yes I needed this video 😍
hope it helped! hehe
omg me tooo!!
Omg yas!!! I needed this video so much!

Im really confused between whitehead and fungal acne.. and im still 12 so i don't know if my mom will let me see a doctor, so im kinda scared my mom wouldnt let me..
I think you should talk with Dermatologist.. Don't be scared.
우앗 너무 궁금했는데 알려주셔서 감사해용ㅠㅁㅠ
Hope you're having a good day, skincare Queen 😊😍! (Congrats on the new product.)
Thank you Steph!
Ugh
Why the hell does all this exist
N y does it only happen to me (in my school literally most of the girls have clear skin )😕
Thnku for this informative video tho I think I might have all these skin conditions
Can i use like... head and shoulders shampoo????????
once it's like a dandruff shampoo it should work, she has another video where she talks about fungal acne so u can watch it to see what ingredients to look for in shampoos
Thank you thank you thank you! I guess I’m using a heavier cleanser bc I been having clogged pores and milia over two months now
I have so many bumps on my forehead n nose rip. I always notice every single imperfection on my skin, I know ur not meant to squeeze out sebaceous filaments but I can’t help but notice them every time in the mirror n I always end up trying to get rid of them :( n then it leads to a big pimple on my nose, is this ocd or what
I'm stuck between white heads or fungal acne, because I have no idea which it is :( I noticed steaming my face would help SOME of the bumps, but never all of them, and they never really went away, but then again I have never had a good skincare routine so it could be cause of that. I'm planning to buy new skincare next week, but don't know what active ingredient I should focus on! I have acne, excess sebum, and white bumps TONS of them on my forehead and some on my chin, I thought of getting Cica/Centella prodcts, because my skin has become even more irritated, even after just washing my face with water it randomly start itching for no reason, however AHA/BHA really helped my blackheads before, but I have no idea if I can use AHA and Cica together? god, going from perfect acne-free skin to not knowing what is going on is tiring xD Thank you for your videos tho
kurochi chan so what did you have ? Fungal or white heads
Hey so if any of you have used nizoral, and found it ineffective after a while, I found that retinA really helps. My skin is so smooth and I never thought this was possible. It’s really unbelievable
What would be your product recommendation for retinA?
@@Caja2020 Retin-A is the product. Its by RX only and there are generics. I would see if your doctor would prescribe it
And how do you counter the dryness
@@lovedbyjesus7217 an oil free moisturizer!
