    I just moved to Naples this year and yes there are many old folks here but don't let that turn you away, there are just as many young folks too. We moved to Naples from New Jersey and we have no regrets. We absolutely love it here. There are 3-4 months, January - April, that it's crazy down here which is considered in season. You will find a lot more traffic on the streets than normal but don't be discouraged it really is a beautiful place to either visit or move to. The best part is everything you possibly need is a 5 - 10 minute commute, whether it be a doctor, dentist, store, mall, food, bar, gas, or beach you name it it's close. Even though it rains a lot, it alway clears up and the sun comes back out. It really is a tropical paradise.

      ***** We do have people that like to speed, just as we have people that want to do 30 in a 50. Living down here is a lot different, it does take a while to adjust. As far as crime I think you really need to research the different areas in Naples. We live near Downtown Naples and haven't had any issues. I'm sure that it's no different than any other place you just have to make sure you check it out before making your move.

    I love, LOVE , love my Naples.
    I own a beautiful home on Rum Runners Road (it's nicer than the name sounds); it's my weekend home / vacation home. My job has me in Miami & Ft.Laud mostly. Naples is superior, very much so, to southeast Fla. Everyone is absolutely 100% kind, polite..., not to mention in shape. Miami and even Ft. Laud are the extreme opposite of Naples. Plus people speak properly..., and dress decently..., and have good manners..., and are well educated in Naples. I met my husband in Naples; he owned the lovely house right next door to mine..., when I first bought property here. God bless Naples. What a wonderful world it would be if all neighborhoods were as clean and decent as Naples.

      @@momofthreemunchkins Well, winter is as close to your 'ideal' temps but from May/June to September/October it's 95 every single day, and very humid (not unlike NC/SC) and there are thunderstorms virtually every day in the afternoon. But it clears up almost always as well. But I'd rather deal with the heat here than the cold, sometimes frigid, temps up north. It's amazing here!

    Well said Cookie. I can't say a lot about naples but our friends live there and we visit a lot. Yes, its full of rich retirees, and lots of money but it does have it's charm. Your right, the more they keep building and building it's taking away the charisma and soothing effect of a place that very many long for, a peaceful, pleasant area where nature still can be appreciated, and activities are plentiful. Unfortunately sometimes the greed of more development and money destroy beautiful things and people. Hopefully, there are authorities with at least half a brain that will make the right decisions that will benefit the community and area, instead of lining the pockets of politicians and other half wits that are only in it for the greed.

    Ever since I was small I've wanted to move down somewhere south, be it South Carolina, or North Carolina. As of recently I have had my eye on Naples Florida, probably because of low crime and it is a beautiful city. Though I do have a question for anyone that comes along my comment. Being 17 I will be graduating from High School next year, and really want to start somewhere new. So would it be logical to move to Naples after a few years after school? As the video shows this is one of the most richest cities, do you have to have a bunch of money to make a living there?

    • @cookierockstar8
      @cookierockstar8 Před 8 lety +6

      its only one of the richest cities because of the retired people who live there. there is poverty still present and crime rates its just because the crime never reaches the news or the rich people because everything is kept very hushed. but dont get me wrong the police force doesn't play around thats why the crime is kept under control but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen as much as the town over, because it has just as much crime as any city. the area is pretty good for cheap rent especially in the naples manor. everything in the city is pretty close. i personally think Naples is over rated, the city focuses mostly on tourism sites intead of improving the Naples community. basically the "rich" and snowbirds are placed of high more priority than the locals. We are basically thrown under the bus. i really hope the government changes that. because Naples is loosing the small city vibe and starting to become like our neighbor fort myers which is a terrible place! so much crime and corruption there! i really do not like how much Naples is expanding because they are not improving the community or protecting the delicate wildlife that lives within Naples. i would wish they would stop building so many communities that become empty when the snowbirds leave, because recently we have been loosing the beautiful landscpe and hurting the habitiat of the Florida panther which believe it or not is also lives in parts of Naples. The corporations are not caring for the enviroment and making Naples almost an eye sore with unnecessary communities popping up everywhere. traffic is becoming unnecessarily heavy. it was not like this growing up and i think people are getting way over their heads with money instead of caring for the community nor the delicate wildlife that is greatly suffering! aka the everglades is starting to suffer!!! ... sorry i know i went on a tangent here!

We've just moved to Orlando a year ago and getting ready to move to the sleepy town of Clermont. There is not a Beach insight that is not being built on! The Politicians (not all I hope) are all about the money and not about the infrastructure or nature. Actually, Trump took care of that one with the 28 laws done away with for a Border wall.
