  • This video includes reaction of Soap with soft and hard water
    Hard water contains salts of magnesium and calcium .Due to which on reaction with soap ,leads to the formation of scum (White precipitate).
    Due to scum formation with tap water lots of soap wasted during washing .

      @@adeyemibabatunde1814yeah use a bit less soap cuz the soft water barely needs any. Hard water needs way more soap and that’s what we are used to. Also maybe figure out how to adjust the hardness settings on your softener because that could help too with the slippery feeling

    Its a scum[layer] of mg or ca bicarbonate or sulphate or chloride depending on type of hardness and it looks as a preciptate

      Scum is an insoluble substance that is formed when soaps react with hard water. However, Lather is froth or foam, which is formed when soaps react with soft water

      Bro in our house water tap there calcium deposit in it but we can not see it from our naked eyes but it's present in our tap water

      If the water in your House Water Tank is muddy or contains any type of impurity, then adding little bit of alum is the best and simplest way of purifying your water.
      But alum should be non toxic

      Ok I had tested it and results are our area water is also hard , so what we can do for it , as it is damaging our hair and there is also white residue on utensils and taps ,

    Actually hard water contains dissolved salts of Ca²±,Mg²±,Zn²±,Fe²+ ions and doesn't produce lather easily.
    Incase of soft water the vice-versa happen.

    Soft water IS better for plumbing and your skin, but your demonstration is NOT showing what you claimed. The dissolved minerals in hard water provide more nucleation sites which make it easier for soap to dissolve into. Your demonstration simply proves that soap dissolves faster/easier in hard water. Please stop intuiting what’s going on in chemical reactions.
