2:00 great song and group take me back to the 80s and 70s ❤❤❤xxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
What a beautiful voice the lead singer has !❤
Such a wonderful group of singers. Impeccable toning, and interpretation. I've been a fan for so many years.
Even now at 86 years, I'm still hypnotised by Laurel's swinging hips. A beautiful personality, and divine singer .
Eric in Australia.
My sister never stopped playing this beautiful song hadn't heard it for years so many sweet memories
Don't know about everyone else but this is a beautifully crafted piece of music. Something simple but profound about it. Anyone agree?
Just googled it from my 1956 g.e.c. valve radio....I thought, this is great. I've never heard it in the top 40 charts or anywhere.
Couldn't have said it better!
Such a lovely song at the time i was in love with a lovely italian lady i play this often think of those times and at 76 i am no different inside still a hopeless romantic
Aw, for me it reminds me of a crush I had on a 6th former at school, I was about 12 or 13, he was a grown up at 17 or 18 😂
Oh my god I forgot about this song, brilliant 🇬🇧
Life wouldn't be the same without Manhattan Transfer ❤
This woman, Laurel Massé, is just as beautiful as her angelic voice.
Laurel Masse is so breath taking beautiful and such a gorgeous voice as well.

What an incredible decade of music the 70s was.
Beautiful timeless track
😊
What an absolutely BEAUTIFUL song❤️🎶
That's correct Gerry. Love this song so much and also love the woman singing this song
This Lady has the most beautiful female voice I have ever heard and will ever likely do in my lifetime. Her tonality, smoothness depth of sound and accuracy with each and every note she sings is simply breathtaking. This song is not the easiest to sing as a vocalist. Thank you Laurel for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your voice and share in the magic it creates. This song and way it it is sung gives me the shivers each time i hear it . God Bless.
For me, alongside Karen Carpenter
I have literally never recovered from Laurel Massé, and I'm glad.
These sort of songs and type of music touched me when I was young and stayed with me all my life. Superb and, thanks to youtube, we get to watch and listen as if they were around today. Thanks.

This is very Beautiful song

Brilliant from Scotland
Sumptuous!!! 💜💜💜
Wonderful Quartet! it's impossible to get tired to listen to them.Magic operates on Us with strength and it is a super fun trip to be trained by their voices of incomparable accuracy and sweetness. My God, the whole world RAP industry is not worth a hundredth of the quality of this masterful interpretation, here no need to shout or sway a stream of hard, uncompromising words to assert, denounce or challenge the listeners, the talent is there with great class and great sobriety. It's beautiful! We just have to ask ourselves a moment and enjoy this delightful moment. Thank you, Great, great artists you are.
The height of their career, the pastiche period, before they went all glitzy Vegas cabaret, when Ms Masse was stunning, happy days!
She is almost doing a belly dance there. Lovely voice.
You should see the other video where she's in a swimsuit.
Special memory
Have played this track and obviously Chansion D'Amour but first time time seen this recording, as usual loved the harmonies because it doesn't get any better but Laurel WOW just WOW!!
my fave for decades
The song was familiar with the original . But this cover was the best so far. Though it was my first time to watch this music video. Just heard it playing yesterday from an FM radio station. I was caught by surprise of what I've found out when I tapped the Googles microphone on android phone... that it was the Manhattan Transfer . The voice of the singers especially the lead ... was so cool and soothing to the ear. Thank you for the great song and to the singer's. 👏 Missing the 70's❤
Laurel is still performing regularly and often duets with Janis Siegel!

So beautiful, I wonder if all 5 of Manhatten Transfer have sung together? Such underrated performers!...and coming to New Zealand in 3 weeks! Shame no Laurel.
heard this in buncrana many years ago.....on a 4 track cassettte....
What a lovely woman, still in love after 35 years with Laurel Masse.
I miss Laurel
Love Tim Hauser's pinned-striped 3 piece suit. Ought to get myself one like that. Thought Janis was lookin' mighty fine !!!!!
Fabulous!
I remember this
Gosh, my days in New York....
0:23 I had forgotten how in that era singers on stage world quickly nod their head (I think to add conviction to their words).
robsusanz - The head nodding would be because of very specific designed choreography for that number. They have somewhat different stage moves and tableaux for every number and since this once didn't require a lot of movement around one another and the stage, the nodding was intentional.
I would prefer to think the singer was directing that nod to individuals in the audience to make them think she was singing for them personally. At least to acknowledge the audience.
Why am I totally completely in love with this woman?.
this is called music style Elegance wonderful performance didn't have to take the clothes off and shake any part of their bodies this is music (the wife)
Et la lumière des étoiles nous a apporté Laurel Massé !
Thanks for the info .
These ladies are gorgeous
Оторвать взгляд и слух невозможно!

tiffany branton Pontiac firebird and trans am are two different versions!
Soon after this (in 1978) Laurel was involved in a serious car accident which forced her to leave Manhattan Transfer .I hope that she is doing well these days !
Oh no! How tragic. Had no idea..
Yeah , I have discovered this information after I had posted my initial comment .This is good news . Also I believe that the accident involving Laurel was in '79 rather than '78 as I had previously stated . Laurel's performance of 'Walk In Love' is excellent and yesterday I checked out Janis's live performance of 'Operator ' and was amazed at her brilliance !
🌹
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👑👑👑👑❤️❤️❤️❤️🎤🎤🎤🎤
Adorooo
I'm now all of a sudden looking into this band's material... Is it me, or does Cheryl Bentyne (Laurel's replacement) look a little like her? Anyway, great band in any era.
"Is it me, or does Cheryl Bentyne (Laurel's replacement) look a little like her?" Not enough, my friend. Not enough. :'(
SHE'S JUST BEAUTIFUL LOVE HER (THE LADY IN GREEN ) SORRY I DON'T KNOW HER NAME 💋😍
Her name was Laurel Massé. She was 27 years old in this video. But for now her age was 69.
1978-------------I turned 32 y/o-----------what a time, the 70's were . And as good as laurel was, I understand now, why she had to remain in NYC, when the group decided to move to LA, WHERE THE RECORDING WAS BEING DONE. -------------Laurel was wonderful----------but better on her own, while Cheryl---------equally talented----------was a far superior group fit.
David Batteau
Well and timely said, Clee Jackson. Laurel had (and has) a magnificent voice and what's more a fine mind as a visit to her website will quickly establish, though I don't share her religious beliefs. I think she would be the first to acknowledge she didn't get there on her looks, though she was expressive and statuesque on stage in the day. Incidentally, this is mimed. Why on earth would Manhattan Transfer need to mime anything? Low-budget TV studios, I guess, and the fact that many pop vocal acts couldn't deliver live.
EwolDJ - They delivered brilliantly live in all sorts of venues, including festivals with lots of noise and distractions. Some TV performances were required to be taped due to potential for problems back when the electronics were not as advanced and dependable. They are consummate musicians and performers and I've been present at spectacular live performances even with technical problems that they had to resolve on the spot: all with humor & sex appeal.
It appears that I was in fact correct in my initial comment that Laurel's car accident occurred in ( December ) 1978 . Contributor HCIKF S1 has informed me of this .I hope that this information is correct and that any confusion that my revised comment may have caused ( where I cited 1979 as the year ) has now been cleared up .
She had a terrible road traffic accident in 78/79 sadly ,didn't perform for many years after that.
are manhattan transfer still performing
