It's kinda weird actually. The Shard Diffractor is probably one of the most powerful support weapons that Engie can have. The slowdown effect paired with weakspot damage, AND the fact that the weapon itself is an oversized "laser pointer", means that fellow players will INSTANTLY notice what you are targetting and possibly help out if they can. This is awesome for mowing down Praetorians, Oppressors, Bulks and even the Menaces.
If I didn't love direct impacts with the grenade launcher so much, the Shard Diffractor would easily be my most used Engie weapon. It's actually pretty good on Industrial Sabotage when the Caretaker is spinning and you have to shoot the yellow vents on its corners.

It's the most generalist of Engineer's weapons, effectively acting as an extra primary weapon in the secondary slot. also 8:53, it's excellent when other folks bring cryo weapons. What really ticks us cryo cannon mains off is when fools bring fire weapons or temperature shock cooker.

Bruh all the people I know be trashin on stuff I like, shard diffractor, for example, it's the weapon for elimination, also be trashin on my armskore (my build is 1-1-1-1-1 +ammo - damage OC or 2-1-1-1-1 hellfire OC) but it be killin damn lots of bugs, same with my breach cutter, where all the people say that fat boy better but they just got 4 shots and they are done, and here I am killing more enemies than they do teammates with a single shot, also lok1 overrated, ammo just gone, also no protorean damage, so sad people be like "the weapon is good!" And then I try the weapon, and 1 swarm later I run out of ammo and die and then they say that the subata is bad and I just kill several bulkies with it easily, anyways nice memes
