However this really has to go along with actual green and sustainable practice which tech and energy is constantly overshadowing and confusing the issue around.
Because industrialists and asset capitalist are the only ones with the wealth to pay for genuine green and sustainable initiatives, which would entail a huge amount of wages for a vast amount of labour, and they don't want to pay for the huge cost of what's required, they want to continue living to vast excess maintaining their claims on all primary resources and energy required.

On the Restore Nature Now, march, I was at the back. As I approached Parliament Square, I heard Dale Vince speaking, and what he said was so confused in terms of addressing the climate and ecological crisis, that I despaired. He was talking about his electric plane project, claiming eventually it will eventually be able to fly long distances, with "no" pollution. What are these electric planes going to be made out of, rocking horse shit? I did write a lot more, but I've scratched it, because Dale Vince is not the enemy. However, nor is he a credible commentator on the climate and ecological crisis. I will give a couple of figures, that put things into context. Less than 18% of the global population, own a car, and over 80% have never flown at all, or in a given year. Those that fly regularly, are a few percent of the global population. Dale Vince, said you can't ask people to do without these things. Yet the vast majority of the global population, already do without these things, and the system is groaning under the strain of that extravagance now., and we're heading towards collapse. When he says you can't expect people to do without, he's talking about a tiny proportion of the global demographic, he's part of. We need to live within our ecological means. There is no sustainable, mass flying option.

@@RobinHarris-nf4yv - Sorry, but those are false arguments, which demonstrate a lack of understanding of the climate and ecological emergency. As Professor Kevin Anderson, a leading climate scientist points out, there are no radically unaltered futures. What he means by this, is things are going to radically change, whether people like it or not. The surest way to the most unpleasant and adverse change, is trying to carry on with business as usual. It will quite literally, result in the collapse of our civilization. Nor are we talking about far off in the future. We're only one stop away from global food shortages, which in the current free market system, would produce food hyperinflation, cause massive social unrest, and could lead to civilization collapse. Remember, the UK is facing greatly reduced agricultural yields this year, due to the wettest 18 months on record, a consequence of climate change. There are similarly reduced agricultural yields, due to extreme weather in different parts of the world. All it will take, is in a given year, for there to be a number of these extreme weather events and runs, in a given year, to create global food shortages, which will totally disrupt our system. I can't use all the references for this, because I had my CZcams account suspended once, for using scientific references. But be assured, I can support everything I say, with impeccable scientific references, along with the likes of the UN Secretary General, Sir David King, the former UK Government, Chief Scientific Adviser, the WMO and far more. None of the points I made are false, but your arguments are. It is not what people want, it is what is possible, and what will happen. All you need to not see this, is to be in denial or not acknowledging the scientific evidence.

    • @gnosticagnostic7

People's massive bills with heat pumps show this ... only an idiot (sorry) would get one ... its obviously easier to heat air inside the house as its warmer than the air outside to start with ... clearly, it takes more energy to gheat cold air than it does to heat tepid air ...
In physics, this is known as 'the conservation of energy malarky', which, is, you cant create energy out of nowhere. ...
But, it doesnt take 'thienth' to know that heat pumps are nonsense, just human experience of heating ... when its cold, you dont eff around with cold air from outside ... you keep the tepid air inside, and heat it ... obviously ...
the scam artists want folks to have good insulation, then ignore insulation by heating cold air from outside ...
To make money out of the stupid tech ...
To make money out of your lecy bill ...
Surprise surprise, the same shareholding portfoio entities own shares in the new tech companies, and oil, and elecy companies, and, all the big corporations pretty much
The 'green' tech is grey isnt it, and the grey men are making billlions from their new scam
Real green typically looks green, like plants and trees ... they are free ... 'green' councils are not encouraging such things ... no new allotments, no new community farms ... just new nonsense grey tech ... insane posh spending that feeds the new mega-rich scam

Scam for the manufacturers (probably owned by the mega rich), scam for the installers (the chosen new, even more corrupt middle class) ... scam for the electrickery companies (owned by the mega rich) ...

His rationalisations about backing Labour in Bristol and Brighton make no sense. Maybe as the owner of a private green energy company, he doesn't want Green MPs advocating for investment in community owned renewables projects. He also keeps saying that 'wind and sun need no public money,' so he's not expecting investment in Ecotricity from GB Energy. But renewables ARE generally still heavily dependent on public subsidy, because they're low margin - Aaron was discussing this recently with Brett Christophers on Downstream. Oh, and Ecotricity's biogas from grass plan is an ecological disaster.

As for his vision, knowledge, communication, temperament and technologies for delivering change, he does have these attributes, whether people agree with his political direction or not.

I do agree with him that the coming Labour government will likely be the greenest government we’ve ever had though (politically they had to cancel the headline 28 billion figure as the Tories were attacking them so strongly on it but the policies and plans behind it are still mostly there) and I’m a pretty optimistic about Starmer’s Labour.
