Literally the coolest thing on the road. If you grew up watching Knight Rider, it's hard not to have a big grin while watching this. Loved it!
I am building the model kit of K.I.T.T. When it is complete, I will post the slideshow, with Knight Rider Theme as the background music.
“The throttle is more of a noise button” - 😂 hilarious.
This takes me back! The days of watching:- Knight Rider, Six Million Dollar Man, Airwolf, Magnum PI etc, etc. Imagine if someone retrofitted a tesla style self driving mode and Satnav/Alexa (complete with KITT voice) to the car.
That is still my dream car - I'm about as old as the car (born in April 81) but y'know... I have been a fan of this show since it was first run. Grew up watching the taped off the air VHS tapes constantly. I still watch my digital copies at least a few episodes a month... I'd totally take one to a con and let other geeks my age just nerd out to it
A riot police baton for a gearstick. I laughed so hard I spat my tea out. Good job I was outside. Hilarious. Cap doffed (or should I say Hoffed) to Phil for a brilliant recreation. Chucking some fun like this in every now and then elevates The Car Guys above all the other automotive preening self congratulation that clogs up CZcams. You need to make some merchandise.
Thanks, Shaughn - I knew you’d like it - cap Hoffed is possibly the best thing you have ever said
Love Knight Rider and KITT.I have driven him too,its awesome.KITT is so special.
Here in America, I live near a guy who has a replica like that. He loves 99.9% of it, except driving it with that steering yoke. He has a quick release for it and has a regular wheel that he uses for daily driving.
Then he’ll put the yoke on for car shows and the like. Says it’s just to unsafe for quick steering inputs or other needs.
Great episode!
I used to watch all of the knight rider shows especially with David Hasselhoff as Michael knight & Kitt in all of the shows!
Every time I hear the Knight Rider theme, I get goosebumps. Such a great song and show. Awesome video guys.
Timeless shape, one of the best looking cars to come out of the US.
They actually had 20 cars for the tv show. 5 were used for stunts. 1 for up close shots and the others for just back up. I still love and watch the show.
Awesome episode! I too remember watching Knight Rider as a kid. The 80's were amazing. It truly was the time of vehicle driven shows. Sadly, as a kid I did not realize how special those times were until I look back at them now. Thanks for sharing. It is an incredible thing to be able to drive your dream :)
I think most of us don´t appreciate the glory past until we see how bad the present is; but at least no one can take away those moments from us :)
The "cool" factor for this video is Turbo Boosted into the stratosphere! Well done guys 👍
That car gets the juices flowing.
I've seen quite a few KITT replicas over the years, but this is probably the best. The stance of the car is all-important, and so often the suspension is too high, or the wheels are too big or small...this is spot on. The vox box isn't the original flashing solid red box, but the three bar replacement. Can't recall exactly when it came in...
Very jealous!!
Fantastic video! I smiled all the way through! The show was amazing & you guys looked like you had great fun! I would have been the same! Love KITT
I saw KITT! At Universal Studios Hollywood in 1992. You could sit in him and ask questions. He would answer back. It was an original from the show. What memories of an different time. Cheers guys.
So many memories of those iconic tv shows, life was so much simpler then! You two looked like you had a ball as usual, great share, thank you
Kitt will live forever and ever . Best car in the world
I am so bloody jealous!! you two are living my dream!!
I was not a Knight Rider viewer when it was on here in the States, but it was fun watching you guys geek out on the car.
*I always loved the episodes when it was raining cuz kitt always looked so comfortable inside! seeing the rain drops on him is giving me that vibe! I know it's weird but yeah*
Brilliant video guys 😀and many thanks to the owner for lending it 👍
Going through and extremely challenging time in my life but this managed to make me smile throughout. Thanks guys 👍
We can’t ask for more than that, Edward. Here’s to better times my friend
One of the best reviews of this icon I've seen. Most are so negative and take the pss but you guys have it spot on.I have my own replica too (since 1992) but without the dash and upper consoles.
Great video and excellent nostalgia guys. I drove an ordinary Trans Am model like KITT in Texas, 1984. Those velour seats were like rocking chairs and floaty feel was an understatement. It felt like I was driving a waterbed (but, it wasn’t KITT). The only other 80’s icon car that was in the same class as KITT was “Doc Brown’s De Lorean”. I would really enjoy seeing your review on this car too. If you can get your hands on one. Anyway thanks for the giggle and the trip down memory lane...👍😂
I have never seen you two sooo happy in a video. Like I would be if I was in it. My inner child is so jealous
if this thing pulled up next to me at night time with all those interior lights going i would literally collapse in excitement lol
Best to get out of the way because the driver will be blinded by the dashboard 😂
What a lot of fun. TRULY EXCELLENT. I sat in one in the early nineties in LA at Universal Studios. They had someone talking as kitt. Probably some bloke in a nearby building with a walkie talkie. I asked for money. Kitt said the Knight foundation isn't allowed to dispense cash at will.
Nostalgic video brings back memory's when life was so simple in the early ages. No tinterweb filth.
Most difficult thing was sneaking fiesta magazine into our house.
I love a bit of role play so the wigs have given me a sat night idea......
The inner child comes out to relive your youth. Love it, totally amazing. Great Video....
This car is where my love for cars has started when I was 4 years.
Lovely watching this drive around Reading. I’ve seen it in Whitley, Reading of all places too. Now there’s an area that even Micheal Knight couldn’t fix lol. I’m a few years away from affording a KITT replica, but I will get one. The kid in me won’t ever grow up!
It may not handle as well as modern cars but for anyone who enjoyed the show, it looks like this car has smiles-per-hour by the bucket load. :)
Knight Rider, Airwolf, Street Hawk great shows of the 80s
Awesome........featuring your viewers cars could be a good theme.......respect to the owner Phil smiled all through this one keep them coming guys.....p.s the wig rocks !
this makes me tear up, my fav show of all time and i was born in 95
I'm a 2000s baby, and in my opinion this is the worlds best show! Nothing can top it! (Don't judge bc I'm a girl...)
I can't. This is too much. I saw a KITT drive past me one time and I almost had heart failure. That baddest car of all time.
That power bulge was the air induction hood which really made a difference in the power it made!
You guys are fantastic! Wig swapping was hilarious. I doubt anything could top this... except getting a heli license and flying an airwolf replica;)
The Car Guys at their finest! Great video guys. More please!
Great video guys, re living my childhood.
Who didn’t want KITT in their driveway.
Haha Fantastic video guys kin funny as hell, I'm several years older than you guys so didn't really get into the show ,but love the car, what a blast!!!!
Hilarious....I loved that show....so cool to drive one especially to find one in the UK
Would love to see one where they could drop the top as it was in the last season... Now that would be a must have...
Favorite show growing p in the eighties. When I was about 7 I got to sit in KITT at Universal Studios CA, and KITT actually ask me my name and other simple questions. I was probably spellbound at that age. Later in life I happened upon THE HOFF just vacationing in Malibu as he was about to shoot for his failed reality show. I gathered my balls and discretely approached him and explained my fandom asking for a photo with him. He took 4 eternal seconds to look up from his phone before Enthusiastically replying " Sure! That'd be just fine" before his bitchy assistant gruffly interjected "Give Mr. Hasslehoff a miinute, to finish on his phone, and I'LL be taking the picture". Almost talking over her, HOFF is already asking where I hail from, and remarking on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. HOFF couldnt have been COOLER to me. One of the best moments in my life.
I must show this to my son who absolutely loves this car
Pontiac should have kept on producing Trans AM versions.
If you don't mind me geeking out, season 1 had the single video screen, 2-4 was the dual screens. This is a very nice build and you guys had as much fun I would have.
Incorrect. Season 1 and 2 had the two screen dash. S2 had different frames around the screens. In season 3 and 4 they changed to the single screen dash.
i believe this replica of KITT was an 89 or 90 firebird, yall did a great job on this beautiful KITT
Love the channel gents!!! It's so great you showing us an 80s legend. The creator of this car has done some truly incredible work, it looks identical.
Wonderful. Loved KR back in the day. Great vid, great car. Love the hair.
Put a turbo on it with switchable mapping for the different modes, you could even go with switchable suspension, using electro magnetic shocks. Amazing what has happened over the past 35 years
I LOVE THIS SHOW, AND WANDER HOW K.I.T.T'S NEXT LEVEL SHOULD BE IN PESENTS .
Brilliant, your excitement is infectious Guys 😂😂love it👍
My mother made me a k.i.t.t birthday cake. That was as close to cool as I got.
Excellent video and this channel is a delight! ✌️
Awesome recreation; really deep respect for the creator of this!
Absolutely brilliant video.
The recreation has an incredible level of detail. Kudos to the owner.
I love this so much. It reminds me of the time I saw a full scale replica of an X-wing. The only differences is, this can actually be used and doesn't just look cool.
I think I was in my first year of High School when Knight Rider came out. Lots of nice shows back then.
Awesome and brilliant, love it, you guys are living the dream please keep it up.
You guys have so much fun!
When it comes to smiles per mile, nothing beats the experience of my old 1961 Rambler American convertible. They should have had an oars option.
Absolutely loved this video!. Boost shots cracked me up.
No 80s digital or led watches to accompany though.
Your slacking 😂
That’s true - what a missed opportunity. I went with the Bell & Ross because it looked like a helicopter, but you’re right - I should have gone full Eighties digital watch
When you drive the back to the future Delorian you can put in your Casio Calculators!
Some KITT replicas people have installed components to lower the dash brightness for the dark or the ability to just shut off everything except for the essentials, for example the speedometer.
Fantastic! Bloody great!
Was a tough day today and I needed a smile and a laugh. Thanks so much for the video.
Hey! Not just for boys! 😉 Would love see a real life KITT! 😊
Espectacular el auto fantástico , saludos emiliano cuidad de la plata Argentina
Lol, I fully understand, my mate used to own one of these replicas, it was 80s tastic, driving thru the city centre at knight (see what I did there) was hilarious!
The intro was amazing
If KITT is anything, he's 37. I am approaching 42 in October, and that's 'cos I was born in '77. ☺ I am reminded of the line in Knight of the Juggernaut, 'What you do buddy, take a shower?'
I kind of preferred the season 3/4 KITT, but this is undeniably cool.
Love this!
Best car ever! Whoever sells one of this I'm giving all the money
hahaha awesome :D used to love this show back in the days :) I love the wig!! :D :D :D
great video again
The owner has done a great job with that interior. Season 2 dash I see, although I personally preferred the season 3 dash. Great car though
Season 1 dashboard with pilot season 1 upper and lower console. The only thing on the dash that was season 2, was the TV frames.
Fantastic video (car) guys and I particularly loved your two ‘turbo boost’ moments - absolute magic. Any chance one of you can fly helicopters - Airwolf would of the charts to do next! 10/10 vlog 👍🏼
Thanks for making this video
Great video, A Team van next then got to be Hardcastle and Mcormick - I recall the car looked like a red 458, but I was a teenager at the time so testosterone does funny things....
I'm listening to the driver talk and thinking..if he were to lose the english accent and talk through an intercom..he actually sounds like he has the same voice and tambor as William Daniel's (KITTs voice actor)
All the comments made says it all......For us of a certain age it was the car to have. Great video
I saw this at Goodwood Breakfast Club last Sunday and it really drew the crowds in. Dashboard looked amazing. What's next , Airwolf ? ;)
I remember when knight Rider first came out..I absolutely loved the show..one day I was with my dad and we went to a gas station..I saw a '82 Pontiac firebird being repaired there..my dad got the guy for me to see inside the car..well once I took a peek inside I was heartbroken😣 no kitt😕
I have been looking to buy one of these for the last year, great video
Brilliant from start to finish. You've outdone yourself this time fellas. Is there room in the CG garage for this icon perhaps?
Very cool guys, I saw the original "hero" car at cars of the stars museum in Keswick in the early 2000's it was owned by a local dentist and tv and movie car addict called peter nelson , the story was he had a friend that was a studio executive at universal studios in Los Angeles . Peter would make regular trips to buy as many original and authentic tv /movie cars as he could from the studios. The studio exec put peter in touch with hasselhoff himself who was given the original "hero" car used for close ups , when the show finished production , they negotiated a price and the car was shipped to the lake district and put on display, the museum closed in 2011 and the whole collection of cars was bought by another collector and put in a much larger museum in Florida. Peter owned the original A team / BA Barracas van, the original streethawk motorcycle, the original adam west George barris batmobile, the original "munster coach". He even had the original Ferrari 308 gts used in " magnum p.i " among many many others , my entire childhood in one museum it was incredible and very special , i was gutted when it closed , i visited every year for the new arrivals. You guys would have loved it as much as i did. !!
E92 M3 GUY pity it closed down before I could have gone years ago!!!
Always wondered what happened to all the cars
@@christophercode3316 Peter's brother was an autograph collector in the gift shop there were many Hollywood autographs including fred astaire, elvis, marilyn monroe, my favourites were royalty cheques paid in the 1960's from paramount and Warner bros for tens of thousands of dollars for both dean Martin and Frank Sinatra .
Had the pleasure of hiring and very shortly driving this KITT replica for my wedding a few weeks ago and give full kudos to Phil for the work he’s put in making the car. Just for the few hours of having KITT forfilled my childhood dream and will say to anyone who hires this vehicle, you will not be disappointed
Scott Fishleigh Awesome!
