Next, I also have discovered the hammer shield or sword shield. Where you combine a shield and shape it in to a sword or hammer. This can be made with titanium or aluminium. For example, the head of the hammer can be made from an aluminium disc 28cm in diameter and 6mm thick with a weight of 1 kilogram. And what that is going to do is deflect and slow rounds down before they hit the brigandine. In contrast, a shield sword is going to be a bit more heavy but it will do a slightly better job. And with 6mm thick aluminium it can be 18cm wide 65cm long and have a weight of 1.9kg. you could even make a 0.6kg hilt and hand guard on the shield sword as a counter balance.
