  • Full DVD Version of faceting My Way with high quality close ups of the facets as they are being cut with full commentary. This is basically the old way of faceting using a modern machine and not meet point faceting. Here we cut the cut pavilion first followed by the crown. - ENJOY

Very good narrative. Not too much talking. Just pure teaching. The man who was doing all my gem work for me REFUSED to let me watch. I love him but that frustrated me in spite of his excellent work. Thanks so much for teaching.

Wow thanks to you and the camera operator for all the hard work it would of taken to bring to everyone this great video, I was so intrigued I near forgot I was drinking a beer watching it. Brought back some great memories of when my grandfather years ago called into home each week on his way to Inverell for his lapidary course, (18 months long it went for I think if memory serves me well.) He is long since gone but I have a stone unset he cut me in the brilliant design I grabbed and was looking at for reference. Great job mate, looking forward to acquiring a faceting machine and more importantly the skill (I hope) to go with it in the future. All the best.

Your the first faceter that I have watched on youtube that does not blabber on and on and tells me nothing. You have gone through the entire process and that is what make sense not blabbering on an on about stuff that tell the watcher nothing of value. I wanted to especially see it done on a Ultra tec because I'm thinking of purchasing one. Yours is an older one for sure but still the same principal.

Great instructional. I love the way you anticipated some possible pitfalls and then showed how to make the correction. Thank you for that. I have been away from faceting for five years and needed a refresher. I am really glad I came across this video.I saw a posting that said that cinnamon oil could be acquired from a "Chemist". I am in Michigan USA. Is a chemist the same as a drugstore pharmacist? ..... Could you possibly do a video on emerald cut? Thank you.

I buy about 5 stones like this one in a lot, from ebay, for an average of $5. Search "rough topaz". The finished product depends on the buyer. Search Gemselect.com to compare with a similar stone, and judge replacement value. ...Looks like about $100.

Hi Richard - Sorry to take so long to get back to you. The cinnamon oil you can get from any good Chemist. Costs about $13.00 for a small bottle. Just make sure that it is the oil from the bark of the Cinnamon tree. I think you will find that the essential oil type is. It is great stuff for most all clear gems.
