We may not love all the sonic songs we hear but that doesn't mean they aren't good and don't deserve to be appreciated. This is actually Crush 40's first song on a Sonic game with actually a lot of Sonic tracks before hand being more pop inspired. Funny enough the song's lyrics was translated from Japanese to English then given to Johnny Giorgi to sing. If you ask what people's favorite from them it would probably be Live and Learn, All Hail Shadow, or this song. There's a whole lot more bangers from them that isn't even made for Sonic but Open Your Heart is still a favourite from me regardless. Though if I had one reaction ask it would be Catch Me If You Can, from Zero Gravity.

Hey, finally checking it out, guys! I was a kid when the first Sonic Adventure came out, and I used to play it with my little brother. We’d trade the Dreamcast controller when one of us died. The first time we turned on the game and watched the opening sequence with this song coming on…it was an experience. It’s definitely a period piece, you can feel its age, but that’s one of the reasons I love it. When I hear this song, I remember better days, before my family got split up. I’m in my early 30’s with autoimmune issues now, my brother is on the other side of the country with his own kid, and I haven’t seen him in person in ten years due to our family shit. But I can send him **any** of the songs from this game, he will call me a loser via text, then we will have a geeky little jam session. Especially this song. So it’s got a special place in my heart. I love it for what it is… It’s cheesy, nostalgia goodness and sweet, sweet memories all wrapped up! It’s also just worth the listen to if you want to see how far the music in the franchise has come. I love the reaction, and we appreciate the honesty. I’l check out some of your other stuff too. Take care, guys!

Im sorry to hear about all the issues you have had to deal with but its great to hear that the nostalgia of this song and its memories can be a bridge for you and your brother to connect still. I never played sonic growing up which is why for me these songs are a new experience. Im glad thank you can understand and respect our opinion of the song as we see it. "Endless Possibility" is the main vocal theme for Sonic Unleashed and has more of an energetic pop punk kind of sound. You might enjoy it or think it's cheesy but I still would like to see your reaction to it.

Sonic adventure was the turning point not just for the sonic series but the same goes for the music and vocals tracks going forward also this song actually plays during the final story final boss but you will probably never hear the the full thing because the boss dies fast depending on your performance.
I still think its cool that you could hear the whole song depending on how you do in the fight. We had no idea this was the 1st crush 40 song and the big change to the style of music in the series. We have gotten a few comments on here about it and as always I appreciate you continuing to watch our videos and giving us info about the series as we continue our sonic reacts 🙏❤️
You're right that indeed in the game itself, the full song never plays. It plays in the background of the final boss, so of course the lyrics are all oriented towards that (that said, it does play in full during the credits, without all the ambience and extra stuff though). This is actually Crush 40's first ever song together, the guitarist of the band isn't even the biggest of a fan of it anymore, so it's not surprising that it didn't really blow you away haha. I don't think it's entirely fair to call it completely "non-complex", it's not ridiculously technical, but it's also not "really simple" either from a guitar standpoint, particularly the solo which was not improvised in the slightest and basically had every note carefully composed (like most C40 songs) - when they do the song live that solo doesn't change! Also with regards to the late 90s/early 2000s sound, that would be... Because it is - Sonic Adventure came out in 1998, so you were pretty much perfect with the date.
As for what technically makes things sound "90"s, I think it's a combination of the difference in style of mixing, the production in general and of course the song itself. All of Sonic Adventure's soundtrack was recorded to tape, so from a production standpoint that _does_ make a slight impact on sound. Mixing as a whole is just different in style nowadays than it was back then, especially in the way the drums sound, there's a much more ""modern"" slightly-plasticy drum sound songs tend to go for nowadays than the slightly more in the back sound that's here. It's definitely not low-quality at all, it's just those factors making it go in that direction
You should try "It Doesn't Matter" by Jun Senoue and Tony Harnell from the same soundtrack. It probably has more of what you want.

I vote for I’m Here Revisited. It’s done by Kellen Quinn and made for Final Horizon, the final DLC for Frontiers where there’s an alternate path to a better and more grand finale.
