- Forging a knife out of 1.1248 (c75) high carbon steel. The handle is made of cherry and rosewood. I bought a leathercrafting set to keep me occupied when I can't go to the shop and this was my first attempt at a leather sheath aswell.

Things I used in this video:
Wood Finish Danish Oil (I absolutely love this stuff. Great finish, that doesn't change the wood color)

Leathercrafting Set (small) not as expensive, enough to get you started. I bought this and then upgraded a month later to the big set below

Leathercrafting Set (big) a bit more expensive, but you get everything you ever need as a beginner. I currently use this one aswell

You have very quickly become my favourite smithing channel. That’s one of the best looking knives I’ve seen, keep it up lad.
Thanks a lot! That's very cool to hear. I'd love to forge this particular design in the future for more heavy duty use
Nice! Great job dude!
Thank you!
Live & learn right?! You can only get better!
Exactly 😄 Though hidden tangs are still a pain in the rear 😄
@@NjordArtisan If you look at the tsuka on a Katana, the inside of the grip has to be chiseled out differently for each individual katana. So, the longer that you make the tang is best. You can always cut off any excess length, but if it’s *too* short to begin with, than you’re kinda screwed.
you just got a sub bro!
Thanks! I appreciate that.
