When you see how people act you can appreciate the stores that don't let you get stuff from the carts before they have been placed on the shelves.
That is very true!
At our salvation army, they won't let you touch it. And they can't take it out of the cart & hand it to you. They have to go put it on the shelf. They said people have been injured.

I found a glass head a few weeks ago, in olive green. But one side had some damage. It killed me to leave it behind. I've wanted one for soooo long.
I have a question, hopefully you or someone can answer for me. Avon didn't make the glass, companies made it for Avon. I know that Fenton made a few things for Avon. So why don't Fenton collectors buy the Avon glass ? Its still Fenton glass

Children's books are my favorite! I love to see handwritten dedications or notes in them.

When I worked for Kmart way back when, our music stream came in on the same satellite that processed our credit card payments. So, indeed, when the music was off, our registers backed up because we had to manually process our credit payments... sometimes we even had to telephone the credit companies on some of them.

I got a thing for pencils and pens… those black Ticonderoga pencils are my FAVORITE!!! I woulda snapped those up!! Also that bouquet of flowers that you were pretty but no one would want… it was birthday date on the back lol 😉 PS they sure do just toss everything on the shelf!!

I finally made it to the Avondale Goodwill. I thought that was overwhelming. Trying to plan a trip to the big one. I better bring snacks!
Avondale is more organized in my opinion, but can be hit or miss like all GW's.

Could you make some small bundles of the children's books for What Not? Three or four together?📚 That would be a good buy for a grandparent, or a collector. The great part is your knowledge of which books are the best based on your experience as a teacher!

That is a great idea! I have 8 grandchildren from ages 10-2 and they all love reading…I try to give them books for each occasion…Birthdays, Christmas, Halloween, or just because! 🥰

I've only been to that Goodwill once since they remodeled and added the wire shelves. That was enough for me. The shelves are so close together you can't pass someone coming the other way, someone has to back up. The merchandise is just piled on the shelves. The acoustics are awful, everything sounds so loud. It was just too much for me. I'm glad you managed it and found some good things. You were brave!

Management needs to get after the patrons for their aggressive behaviors before someone gets hurt. The less that is said, the worse it will get. So many people have completely forgotten their manners.

Those shelves are ridiculously full and stuffed goodness. What a mess. It does make it fun to searching it though. To an extent that’s a bit sensory overload. New subbie here. I can't STAND the people that attack the rolling carts. I mean, I get it. They want "first dibs" on it. But, they are like VULTURES. Literally, sitting, waiting, and attacking. So annoying. I wish they would simply not put anything out during the day. I wish, they would also say, shop or leave. LOL Thanks for the great share!

Our goodwill the vultures sit outside the swinging doors and when the cats come out they start snatching stuff off before they even get away from the back area. It's very frustrating.
You ought to see the insanity at the goodwill bins. They have no shame the push and shove and even snatch things out of your hands.

I went there for the first time about three weeks ago and was so disappointed. The shelves were super jammed and everything was dirty and damaged. I spent a couple hours in there and walked out with a book. 😐

17:09 That is nuts and so unpleasant for everyone! I was at the Bins in Denver, where the shoppers have to stand behind a line when the new bins come out. Then an employee yells “OK” and people start flipping through the things in the bins. I don’t know what those people are looking for. They rush through so fast that they miss all the good things.

@LindaKayHolevas She is one of the vultures! The Lancaster GW is my local store and I see her there all the time. She spends HOURS at the store and ransacks the carts as they come out from the back. She’s not as nice as she pretends.

Look maybe those people are desperate financially or psychologically > not everyone has a perfect life and others judging the crap out of them doesn’t help > my mother was a nurse and worked in a psychiatric ward of a hospital for years and taught me to have compassion > may your heart be opened

I don’t know what video you watched, but Dagny didn’t judge the crap out of no one, she was simply stating the obvious and showing how people act when they bring out new carts! I think you saying these people may be desperate financially and psychologically is placing judgement on them and just excusing ill mannered behavior…there’s no reason people need to push and shove…and if you don’t like the content of her videos move along and stop watching…she’s literally one of the sweetest and most respectful people I know on here and she doesn’t deserve rude or obnoxious comments from you or anyone else!
