@@scary7172 The sad thing about the OG's comment is that when the future is here and it's not what we hoped for, we reflect on our youth when life was simpler and we were carefree. plus the nostalgia of revisiting the thing that made our childhood great (old school VG's for example) makes us wish we were young again.

I also had several dreams about new worlds in the game and a phantomatic final battle with Bowser after taking all the stars...yeah It was so traumatic but I'm glad I was "traumatized" because it has been a fantastic experience that I will never forget and many of that vibes inspired me to create this song

I can't believe this makes me cry, remembering my childhood days of those days and afternoons and nights playing super mario 64, exploring its worlds and with that background music, I wasn't bored.
POV: you just got an n64 on Christmas you set it up and your parents tell you you forgot one last thing you open it only to find sm64 without a word you quickly insert the cartridge at first you don’t know what the game is about or even is then. A childhood was born.

Yesterday I had this on loop. It got me thinking of those specific memories. Staying up late at my cousin’s house trying our hardest to get all the stars in Jolly Roger Bay. Getting frustrated over the penguin race, but having fun all while doing it. All while thinking about this, I had the best nap ever while this was playing. Thank you.
I was born the year this game came out so never got a chance to experience it upon its release, but I remember playing at school on someone else's DS and just having a blast. all these years later and it is my favourite game. played a lot through emulators. this is the best track for sure
When I was 16. I had a friend who was king of the hill. He had a N64, cool parents, and he was a good friend. I cherish the days of this game, and Wave Race, and me getting owned every time in Golden Eye with the bazooka. I failed so bad. But we were teenagers, still with measures of hopes and dreams. I remember those days well. I wish I could return to that at times. Thanks for the music and the nostalgia.

Born In '93. I distinctly remember getting an N64 when I was 4. It came with SM64 also! I imagine all the kids that used to play and where they are today. I also wonder if they miss this time in their childhood, because I sure as hell do.
I was born in 1998 and for a long period the N64 with SM64 was the only game I owned. Of course I replayed the heck out of it, over and over. This was my introduction to video games and as such has a very special place in my heart.
Looking back at it now, the most astonishing and beautiful part is its simplicity. No fancy graphics or animations, just a bunch of barebone polygons. Yet it emits a special charme that high-end, graphically astonishing games nowadays couldn't wish to achieve. Of course if you plug an original N64 into your flat-screen TV now this game looks like ass. But back then this was considered the future. We didn't know what would be possible then, this was considered peak technology. And we were completely satisfied with it.
While I'm astonished how technology progressed in the last decades I also miss these simpler times in which video games were considered art, with the intent to establish a piece of history rather than gathering a constant cash flow through your playerbase by tricking them with microtransactions, pre-ordering bonuses, DLCs etc.
Man, we need a 10h version of it . Make it happen please.

Spent many-a-hours dreaming of the kinds of games that would exist by the time I'm an adult. Now that I'm there, I can say that many games that I've dreamed of have become real, but I no longer have the innocent wonder of a child to be amazed by them like I knew my past self would be. It's this bizarre, elusive fantasy to think that these two things can exist at once, but it's not a problem. I have so many things in my life to be thankful for, and I think we should be glad that videogames are no longer the most amazing things in our lives.
I was 6 when this came out so this is about as deep gaming nostalgia can possibly get for me. My love for this song is hard to articulate. Thank you for making this.

I was only born in the year 2000, but my family was poor and we had an n64, then in 2004 a gamecube from a friend. In 2007 we got an xbox 360 for free from another friend...
2010 rolls by, I go back to the n64. I don't know what it is, but with all the fantastic new games being released for 'bigger' and 'better' consoles, this one silly little console older than I am holds the most special place in my heart, and hundreds of thousands of others.

I was 9 Years old on Dec 27 1997 and I very vividly remember my dad buying the n64 system for me. The first game I ever played on it was Pilot wings but popping in that mario 64 transported me to another realm. My dad would sit and marvel at how far graphics had come, sometimes even join me in gaming. Unfortunately he died 10 years ago - I still think about him daily and this music just teleports me back to those times
Day to day, it feels like nothing changes - and then you look back, and everything is different.

Born in 95 I didn’t play this till the early 2000’s with my older brother and cousins when they lived in San Pedro I enjoyed this Mario game so much I promised myself I’d own one then when I was 16 went to a swapmeet bought an n64 with SM64 and Mario Kart 64 and played it all weekend long my little sister wanted to know how to play so I taught her then she bought Pokémon stadium 1 and 2 and she thanked me so much for letting her play my N64 whenever she wanted

Saw the comment about dreams about this game... I remember solving chomps gate in a dream. Back then as a kid you had to spend a month's allowance to get a guide to help you solve the difficult puzzles. Today you just CZcams it.
I'm not sure what the significance of that time stamp is on this footage, but December 27th was my mom's birthday. She once made mention of how calming the music was in this stage.
