    Cooking times varies according to beans. Black beans take more cooking time than others. If the sauce still looks too watery and the beans are still a bit gritty keep cooking them under a medium to low heat. You can't overcook them! Catch up with me on Facebook and we can discuss further.

      well... in Brazil you can buy in any market... search in google for "Panela de Pressão", maybe you can find some virtual store to buy :)

    feijão q ficou de molho o tempo certo cozinha em meia hora e não duas horas,quando demora duas horas é pq não ficou o suficiente de molho.

      It is about that, there are others we use often but they are more specific to some regions and/or dishes, those two are the more general ones.

      Cominho, tomilho, coentro, manjericão, noz moscada, pimenta do reino, pimenta calabresa, páprica doce, páprica picante, salsinha, cebolinha, colorau, Alecrim, manjerona, folha de louro, orégano, etc.
      Those are the most used in our recipes. I didn't translate them but try Google translator and images and you will get what you need. 🇧🇷

    What are the best beans to use? I never seem to get much of a sauce.left over it is still very watery and the beans seem too hard.

      I will respond nine years late. Black beans are a little more watery than other beans. To have a thicker broth you can crush some grains after cooking or use some fatty protein like bacon. If you don't like meat, you can use pinto beans which are creamier.

    I would only recommend you let the beans soak in water for a day before cooking them. But that is optional.

      These are black beans. It's very common in Brazil but it might take some searching to find elsewhere. I live in the UK and most supermarkets carry it. The green vegetables are 'Couve', which is generally referred to as 'Greens' or 'Spring Greens'. It's a common accompaniment for black beans in Brazil. Look for recipes of Couve

      Well, Feijoada is essentially a cassoulet, so it would be perfect for the slow cooker. Let me know if you try it!

      I would presumed the canned ones are either soaked or part baked. So I would do the garlic and onion spice and drop the canned beans into and cook until the water turns opaque/chocolaty.

      @@Portuges88 Sautee the chopped onions and garlic first, then add them to the beans. The rest you'll have to do by eye. There's not really a way to overcook the beans... So just keep going until they are really soft and the water is thick.
