About AleXa:
The daughter of a Korean adoptee, AleXa, also known to fans as Alex Christine, was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A lifelong dancer, AleXa competed in Soompi’s “Rising Legends,” where nearly 1 million fan votes determined her the winner. Shortly after being signed to ZB Label, she beat out thousands of contestant hopefuls and was one of the 96 chosen to participate in Mnet’s “PRODUCE 48,” the most competitive audition show in Korea. It's hard to tell she's a rookie as she surpasses some of her seniors in charisma. She is the embodiment of talented diversity and epitome of talented rookie. To be honest she's already in the top 10 soloists. Keep up the phenomenal work and seriously we need a fandom name cause I can't keep saying AleXa fans.

honestly it's fantastic so see a heavier side of the korean music scene. not too many metal bands out there that can fuse pop and metal like this.
alexa deserves all the recognition in the world, she's so talented, and this is only her debut single. i can't wait to hear the first album she kicks out, especially if there's a bit of this added in.
uhhh.... you do know that the metal band did all the work... right? She really doesn't have to do much. People do this sort of thing pretty often. There's a dude that did one similar to this of fake love from bats. Look up bts fake love unlucky vibes if you wanna find it.
Metalcore is also littered with bands that fuse a ton of genres with metal. the metal bands are often the most dismissed.

I was not expecting to see a rock ver. You can tell her company's been putting a lot of effort in promoting her (well at least on youtube).
ZB Label only has Alexa as their artist and it's only a subsidiary of Zanybros Entertainment. Zanybros has a lot of money bc they shoot MVs for various other companies and their groups. So it's no wonder that ZB Label has been promoting her so good. They have the cash and the focus to actually do it

I just thought that her company's going the extra mile in a sense (I know her company's got a ton of money, but what was executed (a rock ver) was unusual.) Her company could have easily just done something that would have been easier to expect like a cute ver of the song or something but her song ended up getting a rock version instead.

Don't really want to be one of those people, but... Ever heard of the girl group Dreamcatcher? Their main sound is rock (their Japanese release called "Endless Night" is a lot more metal), they have a good discography, and darker concepts of either horror or fantasy. Their older stuff is a lot more rock and metal influenced, while their newer stuff keeps the rock influences while throwing in some EDM.
I assume that you may also know of BabyMetal? They're Japanese, though.
I do agree with David Barrow that she could switch over to rock and it would work. A lot of what she does in her music videos would really make sense while going for rock.
Edit: There also exists a girl band called "Marmello", but I think they disbanded and are fairly hard to find. They do rock, but they have a cuter concept, if I remember correctly.

As a natural heavy rocker (since 2013) and a newborn K-pop lover (since 2018), this is AMAZING. This is something I have NEVER seen before and I want to see so much more coming from actual artists like AleXa herself. Idk what I'll ever do if I meet this woman face to face. That's actually exactly the same story as me haha, I was raised with metal and rock music (I'm 22 atm) and I started to listen to K-pop as well around 2016 in the first days of Black Pink, and since then I've seen very interesting things in the K-pop industry that somehow have to do with rock or metal music but nothing like this in particular, I mean, I've heard pretty awesome metal covers of K-pop songs but this is the artist herself actually singing with an awesome metal band! It's great!
