He is an amazing man. When he first started out, he was booked at a local small casino in Calgary. The owner gave him a shot when he was a nobody. The owner booked him for next year. Turns out Garth exploded on the music scene. He won all these awards and the owner of the casino said to his wife I guess we won't see him next year. The following year Garth shows up, the owner looked at him and said Garth what are you doing here. Garth said I have a gig you signed me up to do. THAT is the kind of man Garth is.

my favorite is a concert set in ireland. long ago i was a directory assistance operator it was before the 911 system was installed and the day the garth brooks concert went on sale every phone number in oklahoma city busied out which means no one could call anyone because so many people were ordering garth brooks tickets by telephone that no one could call anyone not even the police and fire department or ambulance workers ... shortly thereafter oklahoma city upgraded their phone services. now that only happens after major evens like storms or the actual day of 9/11

They closed off the upper deck and had two straight shows in two nights instead. We went to the 2nd show. I think they were doing a live album or something and that's why they wanted a more "intimate" show....at least that's what Garth said. You referring to Baton Rouge show?
