- Imperial City has by far the best prices of any ocarina maker for high-quality and high-skill instruments.
Is the low-price high-quality too good to be true?
Well, in my experience, it's not fake - it's reality.
I'm reviewing the ICO Triple Bass Ocarina, a 3-octave BEAST of an instrument. It's one of my favorite ocarinas - watch the video to see why!

Hey gamers remember to follow me on Twitter/IG @OcarinaOfAndy 👁👄👁✨
This video convinced me to get the extended range bass C ocarina from ICO as my first bass. It came literally 2 days ago, and I'm obsessed!!
Right! Imperial City hits the sweet spot for utility, low price, and high quality. The triple bass C is definitely one of my best purchases
How long did it take to ship and arrive?
@@s.c342 it took about 2 weeks to reach me in the UK
@@AndyCormierYT My ocarina just came today, and my god is it huge!! I cannot wait to start practicing. Thank you once again!
I just ordered my triple chamber Ocarina and i am so excited to play flute music with it
Yessssss Andy, ICO is one of my to picks for quality cheap Ocarinas.
(the contrabass is also a STEAL for those wanting some B A S S)
Legend says ICO B A S S will summon the spaguetti God.
This video just made me purchase a bass triple chamber ocarina. I am super excited, and I don't think I can wait two weeks for it!!
It's absolutely worth the wait. One of my absolute favorite ocarinas I own, and I love it even more because of the price to quality ratio!
@@AndyCormierYT Well, now you've just made me even more impatient XD
The real question is... why does the alto Ocarina of Time in-game become a bass ocarina when Zelda plays it?
She's magic what can we say?
I was incredibly fortunate to get my hands on the ICO triple bass and it's literally one of the best ocarinas!!! 🤩
I'm still getting used to this heavy thing (my lower thumbs are killing me by the end of a shorter session 😂). Great video and great energy from you as always!!! 😎
You have more thumbs on top?
This is going to be my first base ocarina thank you!
I want a good blues ocarina.
This seems to do that job good. Nice pleasant Ian Anderson style tone.
I bought this ocarina and it took some getting used to. I noticed I became a better ocarina player after learning it because when I went back to some of my smaller ones it was easier to play fast.
Thank you so much for this video. It is so hard to find videos for Multi chamber ocarinas
That could eat any other occarina for lunch
Zelda's lullaby sounded amazing, holy cow
I ordered my first ocarina yesterday. The "Forest Whisper" from OcarinaWind. Really excited to give it a go. I'll admit, like a lot of other people, it was to jam out some LoZ tracks but kind of want to see how far I'll go. Maybe do some covers myself. If I do get really into it, I might consider this one assuming they're still being sold then 🤞
Because of this review I just ordered my triple bass today. I'm so excited 😆. By far you are the BEST ocarina channel. No dis' to David or Owl Ocarina. I just love your presentation 😻 Thanks and keep posting 😊
Thank you! They're both friends of mine, and I think we all offer very different things around the ocarina. Hope you enjoy the ICO!
@@AndyCormierYT I can't wait. It sounds like he doesn't make it until you order it which is awesome. An instrument made especially for me, Wow 🤯
I just want to play a full range song like the Colgera theme.
Any tips on improving breath pressure? I think mine took a hit after surgery about a month ago.
I am seriously tempted but massively intimidated by this triple bass ocarina.
Quick question: how long do your fingers need to reasonably be to play this ocarina comfortably. I have short fat fingers.
Thanks for your review. I went to ICO site. I thought you mentioned that you had the key of G, but all of the Bass Triple Chambers ocarinas are in the Key of C. Do you have a link directly to the one you bought? Thanks
Hey, I know you talk about ocarinas and it would really cool if talked about the keyed aria from STL. Ive been looking at it and its too bad there not being sold anymore. Thanks.
This will probably be my main
Great video !
Do you have a classic triple bass or the extended range triple bass ?
Thank you :D
I have the classic - the extended range was out of stock when I purchased.
My third (not counting 3d printed ones, which got me into this) 'pro' oc will probably be that exact one from ICO, if I stick with playing for long enough.
Have a cheap Awef currently, don't count it as being on my count of ocs, it does most notes okay but the breath pressure is stupid high for higher notes with a fine margin of okay and terrible.
Have one of Hans Rotter's ocs coming from Germany, hopefully it'll arrive this week.
Next will probably be a night by noble, just so I can take it outdoors in a pocket, when I can play well enough. Then one (probably a twin chamber) from Hickman at pure, then this thing.
Enjoy watching your VDO.
That is a chunky ocarina
He’s a THICC boi
@@AndyCormierYT CHUNKy boi
It's got that.... girth...
What songs are playing in the background of this video?
They're from Undertale
Kind of ironic you mention a bass G since I just got one and yes, I'm feeling it in my thumbs after playing on it for a while. I think I'd be good with a double chamber bass C really. I find notes higher than what an Alto C can play to be unpleasantly shrill.
It's only one diatonic note above a 12 hole alto c
Okay I thought bass ocarinas were rediculously big but these are crazy😂😂
This isn’t even CLOSE to the biggest ocarina you can get. They can get kinda comedically large haha
Thank you, I had never heard of this company, but I think I'll end up buying from them.
Whats your green and blue triple alto model?
It's the plastic triple from STL
I'm liking, commenting and subscribing like you said because this looks wild and I'm thinking about investing in it
and did you say quadruple? O: that sounds so sexy hahaha
Edit:I bought a crazy range quadruple chamber bass ocarina...as my first ocarina
it had crazy in the name and I was like
hey one of me
I recently bought a triple bass ocarina from imperia city. The sound quality is good but the ocarina has a important problem. Sometimes on the bass chamber, it sounds a airy and high note at the same time with the note I am playing. It seems there is a problem there and that sound is too unpleasant to heard.
Ah one of my favorite companies!
Any thoughts on their contrabass?
I haven’t used that one personally, but other ocarinists I trust specifically recommend it in the comments!
The ICO contrabass is pretty solid. It’s great for those with smaller hands. I find it to be softer and more raspy than other Contrabass ocarina, (you hear the articulation a little more as well). I enjoy playing it with my ICO septet I have.
3:37 Yeeeh
This instrument could do such a beautiful cover of Cosmo Canyon - Final Fantasy 7. If you listen to it you will know
I have an STL "MaxRange" Triple Bass. (~$450) As an amateur keyboardist I owned a simple ocarina decades ago and was a solid level 1 in skill. If you named a simple song or melody I knew, I could more or less play it right on the ocarina the first time. Maybe not pretty. The STL is a recent purchase and the only ocarina I own. So like before I'm learning the instrument as I go. It's a bit tougher than I expected. 🤣 I'd love to know how the Imperial City compares to the STL I have. And any educational books or materials you can recommend based on my particular situation.
You must try a TAF;-)
See, something like this with a massive price difference from STL and others makes it a killer deal. Still, it's disappointing to hear that ICO has to charge $50+ for shipping right now, because I wanted an Alto f from them, but with that shipping charge it would actually cost a little less to just buy the one from STL.
Wow. 2 years later and already blowing money. Though I know what I am saving for. Though a double may be first.

Its a good ocarina . Only need a groove for the right hand thumbhole.
What right hand thumb hole?
I mean either the ocarina is out of tune in the second/third chamber, or you were playing the wrong notes in Zelda’s lullaby.
Perfect pitch? Cause I could hear some small discrepancy, but not horrible. I've got *decent* absolute pitch, but certainly not perfect.
I wish they made it easier to buy. You have to go through a whole Email process. And to be honest, it’s kind of sketchy 😅
I tried ICO and I wasn’t impressed unfortunately.
i didn't buy this because it was too cheap
your not actually taking advantage of its "range" since Zelda's Lullaby can most easily be played on a standard 12 hole ocarina
The 6 original notes, yes. The whole song, absolutely not
@@AndyCormierYT i actually play the full song on a 12 hole all the time being my 12 hole ranges from A4 - F6 and zelda's lullaby doesnt go above a D6 which makes it extremely easy to play on a double being i dont have to worry about the right thumb hole and i only have to focus on the main chamber
@@LolaMusic822 the ending note is a high g above your f, in the original. You need at least a double to play it note-for-note.
