That exact model of XKR was one of the first model cars I got for Xmas when I was wee lad. And ever since I have been wanting a Jaguar of my own. Happily, I'm picking up my very first Jaguar this Saturday (being 02/09/23). I've bought a 2012 XFR Supercharged 5.0L. I don't think I could ever want a Saturday to come sooner this much ever again.

I have a manual XK8 (and a standard XKR, both coupe). I feel like you didnt realize there are seat controls? Slide the seat back a bit and you will find you fit better! Im 6'2" and daily drive these cars. I did find that the foot rest left from the standard automatic car was in the way of the clutch pedal and removed it. The manual XK8 , other then off the line, feels every bit as fast as the standard XKR.

I converted my 1988 XJ-S TWR Sport to a Getrag 265 5-speed manual. All the heat pours into the cabin. It is terrible like that. The clutch isn’t a race setup but it’s still been terrible for traffic situations. I’ve already had the clutch replaced once, so in less than a few thousand miles. It transformed the car’s performance, but a lot of negatives, too. It would be great if someone could perfect these manual conversions.

The X100 is an evolution of the old (1968 vintage) XJ platform. So could the pedal box from any old manual XJ be used?

This is a proper Jaaaaaag. I love the Ian Callum F-Type I'd argue and say that was his last great design it didn't get called an Aston by the Non Car Guys and with the V6 offering the Manual I'd have to go for it. But even then my gripe with the F-Type is it ay a Stick and Clutch it is a Flappy Padle which ay to me what a Jag should be about. Your XK-R has the sounds the power faster than the V6S F-Type but with it's handling and comfort Clarkson said he the ride was to hard but with less power than the V8 R or SVR but with RWD to do RWD Things. I really want an F-Type I would say the Old one swings it for me and the New one does feel like Jag updated it to keep it due to pressure from Us Jaaaaaag guys who want them to make a proper Sports Car. Jag probably shot itself in the foot when it removed the V6S from the line up. I love a V8 but the V6 makes Sense. But your Jaaaaag is a Proper Jaaaaaaaag shame they won't be making the F-Type past 2024 but I'd say this fits the bill between the Brilliant V6S Modern F-Type which strangly seems so classic and almost old fashioned but not as mad as the V8 which although I like is a bit much. An XK-R V8 and an F-Type V6S would be perfect

You've release a wild cat, but it sounds like you're strangling a kitten.

Great looking car as always but just get an XKR 2009 onwards, you won’t have time to change gears manually,, I don’t think this car sounds particularly great either, sounds like a supercharged sewing machine rather than a supercharged v8

I feel like you guys were surprised at how much people love this Jag. Classic styling, sounds phenomenal, fast and manual swapped - it's now might be the coolest XKR in the world

    Nice episode, one comment though:
You lot keep putting those weird engine sound samples under the driving cars... they make no sense and actually make it all sound a bit silly.
Having a Jag going through a bend, like 50 Miles per hour and having it go through the revs and gear up the same way it already did 4 times before is a bit much don't you think?
Still Nice car, well done with that :)
